MonroeMonro-Matic Plus 32403 Suspension Shock Absorber for Volkswagen Jetta

Always replace in pairs they installed fine in the back of my 2001 Volkswagen Beetle. The only real concern I have is the boxes were different and the one didn’t say by the manufacturers name on it and QC was lacking which arose suspicion. Otherwise they were identical, I put them on my car I did notice a difference and ride quality through the different shocks on each side but it was not bad and they’re probably going to get worn out pretty quickly because I live on a dirt road. Not bad, not good, in the middle I would go for a little higher quality.

Easy to install, but the mechanic had to adapt it to fit my 2000 beetle, because the top part of this strut was different than the one they took out of the car. Other than that, it was a quick and easy install. Now my car doesn’t sound like its falling apart at every bump, rides like new again!!!

3 stars because it was an incorrect fit for my 2009 VW Jetta (and probably all VW's). The product itself seemed fine; I just couldn't use it. The Monroe website and Amazon's car fitment utility both say the Monro-matic #32403 will fit the rear of a VW Jetta. The piston rod is too thick to allow for the mounting hardware to be installed, and the hole in the lower bushing is too small to allow for the mounting bolt. Additionally, the thread pattern on the piston rod appears to be standard vs metric (hence why I believe this shock will not fit any VW's). When I contacted Monroe support, they confirmed that this part will not fit a 2009 VW Jetta. The correct Monroe part for the 2009 Jetta is #5611.

I just installed a pair of these on my 2001 VW New Beetle 1.9L GLS TDI. Wow! So easy to install, and they fit perfectly, just like the original equipment parts. I was literally done in less than 1 hour after UPS had delivered them on my door step. Can't wait to start driving around on them. My old original ones were completely kaput by 97K miles.

Got these for my 2001 VW Golf. Worked great, didnt have any issues and the ride is much better now

These are good quality replacement shocks. They provide a smooth ride and are easy to install. The price is much lower than dealer cost. Don't expect the ride of premium shock absorbers though.
