Harry Potter Professor McGonagall Costume Witch Hat for Women

The Professor McGonagall hat just arrived, and I am totally thrilled. It is extremely high quality, made of a deep, rich black velvet with a wire in the brim, so that the hat can be molded for special effect. The feather is long, straight and perfect and easy to slip into place. The feather sits straight up from the hat. The inner green-checkered band fits perfectly, and I think it adds a nice touch of color, but you could mold the brim to hide it if you so desired. Also the band can be adjusted to different sizes as needed. The hat sits firmly on my head and is plenty big enough for an adult. When ordering, be sure to get the "Harry Potter Prof McGonagall Hat Dix by Elope." I think another company makes a cheaper version of this hat that people have been very disappointed with. I read reviews saying that people got a hat that was exceedingly small for adults and seemed like a mock-up version with a shabby feather and shoddy cloth. Not the hat I got!!!! Please again note that the hat I am happy with is made "by Elope," and I can assure you it is the real deal!!! If you want an authentic-looking witch hat of high quality and lots of character, get this one. The hat by Elope is sure to last for years and is fabulous. I could not be happier with it. Happy Halloween for many Halloweens to come!!!! (I gave five stars for "educational" value because I think imagination is a crucial part of education.)

I was worried what shape this hat would reach me in, based off some of the other reviews. It was, and is, PERFECT! As you can see in the photos, it stands exactly how it should. The feather came in its own little sleeve, for protection, and fits in its own little pocket in the hat. The feather was in great shape when I received it, and stayed that way though traveling to the convention, and wearing it all day. The brim of the hat is wired, so you can really make it sit any which way you like. There's a set of ribbons on the inside of the forehead band so you can make it tighter or looser. I had it cinched down as tight as it would go, but it was still a little big, I was initially worried about that. However, I wore a fake hair piece over my real hair, and that took up just the right amount of room for the hat to fit perfectly. This really seems to be the only "McGonagall" hat on the market, so I saw several of them at the convention, but I think I wore mine best, lol. It really is a great replica. I went for a younger McGonagall look, and even with a slightly different look to the costume, I was instantly recognizable by the hat and brooch (which I could not find on Amazon). I definitely suggest getting this hat if you're thinking of doing Harry Potter cosplay! Not costume quality at all.

This hat came so well packaged! It was flat but so easy to open up and shape took form like Harry Potter magic! It came with a feather that was in it's own little feather sleeve. When I pulled the feather out it was perfect. The hat has a little notch in the band to accomodate the feather. It stayed put all night. It's still there actually. I have a HUGE melon so it was a bit snug but only by a smidge. I still wore it all night. The size is adjustable and will go quite a bit smaller. Great color and fabric. Absolute hit!

This hat is awesome! I bought it as a gift for an adult woman and it fit perfectly. The hat is made of a nice sturdy material and the feathers come in a separate plastic sleeve so they aren't damaged during shipping. They tuck in nicely behind the button and the hat looks great with or without the feathers. (We opted not to use the feathers and the hat was still a big hit!) Also, there is a hidden adjustable band in this hat so sizing shouldn't be a concern. The hat maintained its shape throughout the evening of wear and it's a high quality piece. I spent some time looking through other reviews and other websites and I am so glad that I chose this hat. The price is good as compared to other options and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good witch's hat.

It was hard to pick which one of these to buy because it's hard to tell from the pictures, but this one had the official tag on it, and it feels very, very legit. They even put the feather in a special protective sleeve. This hat is the real deal if you're dressing up like Prof McGonagall. It's velvet, and quite structured, so it will hold its shape well. I'm really happy with this. It's so cute that I put it on a shelf in my closet so I could get a smile everytime I open my closet door!
