The first five classic movies fantastic started in 1968 then a series followed again a master piece, in the second film we see the destruction of Earth and in the fifth film a change to stop this ever happening because in the third film intelligent Apes travelled back in time but one could never forget the first film with Charlton Heston. The follow up to these first five movies was in 2001 just another silly remake, because lets be honest most remakes are just silly follow on's from the original film and lets be honest if a original film as been made it is going to be very hard to match it even with the modern effects and 2001 film was just that, if made in 1968 probably be a great film 5 star but because it is a follow on I would only give 2 star and no wonder it didn't go further.I was very reluctant in wanting to watch Rise of the planet of the Apes thinking it was going to be another remake, I owned the film for about 3 years and never watched it until now. I am impressed because this is not just another remake but different to the original and to me brought Planet of the Apes back to life, here we are with a reason to how dumb animals gained great intelligence and why the human race was made weaker, the truth is a possible explanation making what was fantasy seem real and possible even so it is still fantasy as to gain intelligence and to gain speech will take a lot more then a man made chemical as Apes are not the only Dumb Animals and the vaccine only effected their intellect not any other creatures. It made humans primitive and Apes smart but great story line.No wonder this had a follow on unlike the 2001 Planet of the Apes because it was very well written and interesting in my eyes a great story line, then we see the last film in the 8 film box set Dawn of the Planet of the Apes. The only thing I could find wrong with this film was Caesars hopes of being able to share the Earth with Humans. Cobra had his priorities right as Human life would never give this Earth up or share it with another intelligent life form without a fight after all people can't live with one another without wars. Caesar's hopes where good but Cobra was right to be concerned but wrong to turn on his own, again a great story line.Now there is a ninth film War for the Planet of the Apes the 3rd in this new epic again showing the brutality of people. I am afraid for the Apes like history as shown they would have to earn their respect in mans kingdom like the African who was human and yet became slave to humans so if people can do that to people what would they do to an intelligent non=human? Again another good film in this epic more then the fantasy shown in the original 5 films. Don't know if we will see a tenth film will be interesting to see how they can keep this great story line up because the end of this film their is the death of Caesar,

I ordered this because I used to have the five box set and was pleased to order this set with eight films. Have watched the first classic planet of the apes. The quality of the picture is first class and it was brilliant. Only another seven to go. The only downside was four of the boxes Dvd clips in the boxes are broken and don't hold the DVD'S properly. Amazon did provide a £5 promo credit to say sorry.. Complained to the 3rd party seller but they were unable to help and blamed Amazon or the transportation? Guess I'll have to be careful with the discs when opening the boxes.

This was a steal at £15.99 The collection is packed full with some of the most iconic planet of the Apes films including the current film, dawn of the planet of the apes. For fans and those who simply love the Planet of the Ape films this is a must collection item to have at at £15.99 you can't really go wrong.

This Is a very good box set as it consists all the films together.

DVDs will not play on my DVD player as the country code is not designated on the discs. This is a deceptive purchase.

I wish I could enjoy this dvd set as much as I wanted to. The seller has not made it very clear in their description that these dvds will not play for people with dvd players from the United States. I keep getting an error on my dvd player saying "wrong region". Oh and my purchase was delayed by an extra week.
