Works as advertised
As others have mentioned, putting it up is a bit of a project - you have to trim it (not too big,but not too small), remove the transparent plastic backer (if using to quiet barky dogs, I suggest taping the top to the window or sill with painters tape and removing with the backer facing away from you/at the clean glass, so you don't accidentally trap any stray furs or hairs from your clothes under the plastic before you apply it). It's a fairly sturdy plastic, pretty easy to smooth the air bubbles out and was easy to trim the edges to fit with a sharp utility knife. It's just a detail oriented task and in the end I realized it took me longer than I'd expected to get all my living room windows done. Results are a fairly opaque, frosted glass effect - I can't see anything through them. I have fake french-style glass in my bay windows, so I'm using the film over the lower 3 panes to block the view, then lowering my wood slat blinds to shade just the top 2 panes, but opening them up to allow as much light through as possible

Looks great!
Didn’t know which to order and decided on this one. Great choice! Easy to install and it came with all the tools you will need. I love that you still get all the lighting from outside and you have your privacy.

Final product was worth the hassle
Ultimately I loved the final product. I live in a ground level apartment and this was an amazing solve to our privacy issues in our only window in the bathroom, which is in the shower. I shopped around looking at many other brands because I wanted to ensure total privacy while still allowing some light to come through since it’s the only window in there. I’m happy to report this gave me exactly what I was looking for and I’m glad I found it! However, it was a two man job that was impossible to do by myself without help, the instructions were unnecessarily difficult and overly complicated, and the tools included are pretty useless.I read through a ton of the reviews to help me figure out the best process - sharing mine in the hopes it will help others like it did to me!I started off by cutting out the portions I needed with some extra room to spare. I cleaned off the windows, scrubbing off every last spec. The towel they provided was tiny and had a weird coloring/scent, I threw it out and used my own instead. After cleaning I heavily sprayed the windows with a water and dish soap solution I made as per the advice of some of the reviews I read here. Then I removed the backing and applied to the window (the instructions aren’t clear which side goes against the window, it took us a LONG time to finally realize the reason it wasn’t staying in place was because we were using the wrong side and had to restart and cut out a new piece - I’d suggest doing a test trial a small piece of the film to triple check which side to apply beforehand!) and lightly pushed it into place using a credit card. Not worth it to spend time perfecting it and pushing all the bubbles before cutting the film to the window edges since it moves around a bit when you cut - it was essential for one of us to hold the film in place while the other cut the film because the material is thick and difficult to cut through. The razor they provided was awful and left jagged edges. We ended up using one of our own instead but still was extremely difficult to cut the film precisely to align cleanly with the window edge. Once the extra film was cut off, one of us finished pushing the bubbles out with a credit card and the other held the opposite side in place/sprayed additional solution as needed. The hardest part with that step was getting the corners to stay down, we ended up giving up and leaving a few of them as is after spending what felt like forever trying to get it perfect. The first window pane took the longest while we figured out the process but after that the second one was a breeze and wasn’t nearly as problematic. It’s been a few months since we got it and it’s held up great - the corners I couldn’t push down fully have remained as is and didn’t expand out at all which was a huge relief. It’s survived a summer with record breaking temperatures and the humidity/wetness from us using the shower every day. I still get plenty of sunlight shining through but have complete privacy. I wish the instructions were more clear and the tools were more useful but the film itself is great quality and I’m very satisfied with the end result! I plan on buying more for my front windows as well.

A little disappointed
I looked a long time before deciding on this particular brand. I actually wanted something with a design but nothing came in the size I needed and I didn’t want to have to use two pieces. That being said, this went up easy, but there are bubbles. They are not noticeable at all during the day but you can definitely see them at night. I may have enough to take this down and try a new piece. I did not try taking down the piece I had and replacing the same piece. I’m just not confident that that it would stick as well once it’s removed. It serves the purpose that I need for now. I am going to let this stay on for a while just to see how well it stays. You definitely cannot see through it, so if you want to be able to do that do not order this. It’s perfect for a bathroom window as far as a being able to see in or out but does let in a lot of light. I had blinds up before and this is much better. I think I would recommend it more for smaller windows than for larger ones. My window is 44 x 44”.

Issue with crimp in roll… won’t come out
This worked great for the first window, then when we unrolled the film for the next there was a crimp in the film. Hoped it would smooth out when on the window, but it didn’t and looks awful. I tried more water, but still a lump… bummed as now we don’t have enough to redo that window. Like the product, but unhappy that one window looks like a disaster… Bad to worse… last photo is taken the next day… that’s NOT good!!!!!!

The BEST one I’ve ever used!
I have used a few different brands of these window privacy films and this is by far the very best one yet. It’s thick enough that it doesn’t crease easily, goes on like a dream, not finicky at all and after measuring and cutting it, it went up in under a minute! I use these on a large 8ft long window for privacy because the window is too long for a blind and this makes for quick cleaning and easy install/dismantle when I don’t need privacy in the winter months. I have to cut it down to 12” ht and have a seam in the middle, which was always noticeable with the other thinner products. With this one you can’t see the middle seam at all! …….and cheaper than big box stores product I bought online which was flimsy, creased, a pain to install properly and I paid extra for shipping.I will purchase this again when needed and I highly recommend! You won’t be disappointed with this high quality, low price product.TIP: Follow the instructions to use a piece of packing type tape (wide and super sticky) to remove the protective layer. Comes off in a jiffy. That was the hardest part of this product, because I ignored the instructions at first and tried to separate them with my nails, then a knife, then tweezers. You’d think I’d learned about the importance of instructions after years of IKEA assembly.

Film is opaque and good quality. Followed the instructions closely and it was easy to install.

Happy with my purchase
Really happy with the product.Tip: do cut it wider than the window like it says so you don’t get light coming through any gaps. You can cut it smaller once it’s applied. It applies easily and let’s very minimal light through. Use it for my daughters room plus a sheet over top as we need it completely black out.Con: does smell a little chemically when it gets hot from sun
