Nice pen, messy inks!
The lack of star is moreso for the inks. Luckily none of the inks leaked during shipping. When the lid is removed, a rubber stopper is keeping the inks from leaking. Removing the rubber stopper will 100% of the times leave ink of your fingers. Somehow, ink seems to come from everywhere and goes everywhere once opened. I had to use paper to keep ink from getting onto our leather tabletop and it really did seem to come from an imaginary hole in the bottle until the stopper and cap were replaced. The pen is awesome and works as expected. It is not a calligraphy tip. I wrote out a recipe to show the ink flow. I will probably go to a local art store in search of proper black ink and a well to contain it as it is not practical to be covered in ink each time this pen is used with the inks it came with.

This is soo much smoother to write with then my refillable fountain pen.
I love this pen! I tend to prefer fountain pens and have an expensive refillable one that is always a bit scratchy on the paper. This glass pen glides across the paper and is super easy to use. The only negative is that to get the stopper out of the bottles, you will get ink all over your fingers. You will also get ink on your fingers replacing it. I recommend using tweezers and having a damp cloth nearby or a pair of rubber gloves. The ink is very vibrant and rich. For some reason their stock photo makes the colors look light and washed out and I did not find that to be true. They are very well pigmented and flowing. If I didn't have to carry a breakable glass pen and a vile of spillable ink around, I'd use this as my all the time pen. It fits my hands so nicely. Definitely recommend this set for anyone who loves fountain pens and gorgeous inks. I'm in love.

Ink not same as advertised. Still writable.
The colors I received weren't the ones advertised in the listing. However, the colors I did receive were pretty and I loved the gold specs. You need to write quickly while having a nice balance of ink, else it'll dry further up the swirl and it'll make grabbing fresh ink difficult, meaning you'll be dipping more and possibly drying out more than you should. I tried two different ones and I believe it's just the nature of glass dip, because there isn't a store for the ink like on quill pens. However, I do love the design, and using a glass dip pen was fun and I wrote all my Christmas letters with it and I wrote nearly as well as I would with a quill. This is great as a gift for those who love to write!

Underwhelmed almost to the point of meh
I really want to like this pen and ink set. I'm new to calligraphy anything and really wanted a pretty set for thank you notes to clients. However, right out of the gate, the inks aren't labeled. In bottled form red looks like magenta looks like rich rose, etc. The second thing I noticed is it's not a smooth writer. While I'll admit I know nothing, I will say I once worked with a guy who's employees bought him a Mont Blanc and that was a very smooth pen. While I wasn't expecting a fat Crayola Marker level I expected something that didn't scratch paper. The nib doesn't appear to be angled. It looks to be pointed. From what I understood of fountain type pens and pens designed for calligraphy there needs to be a "thick" side and a "thin" side. This simply is one size. Finally I'm having a hard time holding the pen. My hands are naturally small and the pen feels as though it was designed for someone considerably smaller, even tiny in comparison. It's to the point where I was considering going to my dr and seeng if there's something wrong with my grip and my hands. That's how hard it is to hold. Now if someone has a pretty pen set I think the inks would make a lovely addition. In that regard I give it 3 stars because you'll have a pen that you'll likely not use.If there's advice on improving performance I'll happily accept. But as it stands a fine gel pen is smoother, better, easier to control and naturally cheaper.

It's very nice
I really like the pen and the inks are beautiful. The only thing that was a surprise, that may or may not be causing a problem with the ink distribution at the onset of use after dipping, is the nib is not rounded and smooth. I don't know if it is made that way or if it was broken somehow (there was no broken glass in the box) but the tip is kind of flat with a rough edge. I can still use it and I enjoy it, just thought it would be smoother at the end. Thank you, though. I like it.

very messy
The ink works well enough with the glass pen, but it is too thin to use with a metal-tipped pen. Also, and more importantly, it is VERY messy. The bottles come with rubber stoppers under the caps. Removing the stoppers results in being splattered with ink. I got rid of the stoppers in hopes that would fix the problem, but unless you are very careful when unscrewing the cap, you will still end up with ink dripping down your hand and onto your work surface.I will say the colors are pretty and consist of cyan, cerulean, indigo, forest green, kelly green, yellow green, yellow, orange, salmon, pink, reddish-pink, and magenta. They're not labeled, though, so you will have to test them out and label them yourself.

Fun Beginner Set
Purchased these to learn more about colored inks. So far the glass pen has been quite a distraction, it is beautiful to dip in the ink and twirl it around put some random ink on the paper checking out the colors. Really need to get down and do something serious, but overall it is fun and relaxing me to play with paper, paints ink so serious or not it gets the job done!

Good in most aspects
Got this as a Christmas gift. The glitter is one layer almost like a film that’s been placed inside it and the there is barely any glitter and you can only see it from certain angles. If you’re looking to buy a glass pen for its appearance I wouldn’t recommend. Besides that the pen is pretty sturdy and the inks are pretty pigmented
