For RDWC, get *THIS ONE*
The media could not be loaded. I know this unit seems expensive on its face, but you'll burn *way* more money buying cheap air stones before you give up. I can't speak to other applications, but for hydroponics I cannot recommend this thing enough.I've got a whole box full of those slim aquarium air diffuser strips, several each of three different brands of blue cylinder stones, and a few expensive air disks - that's not to mention other air stones I've tried and ultimately given away - altogether they've cost about 3x as much as the Hooligan and none have worked nearly as well as this thing. In the video, you'll see I have a 1200gph pump hooked up to a distributor manifold. 3/8ID inlet and 3/8 outlet to the Hooligan, as well as four 3/16ID outlets to blue cylinder air stones I keep in the four grow buckets - I will be replacing these with small Bubble Mac stones eventually too, of course. The most impressive thing to me, besides the powerful and efficient aeration the Hooligan delivers, is that it doesn't really seem to get dirty. The porcelain or whatever they're made of is super high-quality stuff, which will be great when post-harvest cleanup time comes.

Bubbles like its 1990 and it's on black pyramid gels in a champagne bubble bath BLUB BLUB BLUB
The media could not be loaded. I was debating between this and an O2 Grow device, I went with this and really like it. Sure it's a little "home-brewed" but give it enough air and it will perform and hold dutifully. I've bought almost every single airstone on amazon, no exaggeration. This badboy kicks a**! I have been running dozens of concurrent scientific experiments for the last 18 months in the two big 2016 "M&M's"....Microgreens and Marijuana.I have this in a 105 gallon Flexitank reservoir that is about 4.5 ft tall, and due to heat, vibration and noise, I did not want to raise the height of my pump further. I bought the eco 793gph pump to split it between the 105 gal flexitank and a 14 gal DWC module and expected it to ROAAR. The pump wasn't even close to strong enough to power BOTH. Could be the OD/ID of my tubing. I had to basically limit the 14 gal module dramatically in order to get the Hooligan pleased. Once you DO give it enough air, man she can really move the water. I think a 1000GPH+ pump is definitely recommended if you are going to split it. Otherwise a 600+gph pumping solely to it will get this Hooligan to bubble like its the 90's and it's on black pyramid acid in a champagne bubble bath. blub blub blub! (Plain English: It's good people, it's really good, give the man your money)One more thing.... I tested out how waterproof my iphone 7s is while filming to give you this shot. Worked like a champ as you can see.

Great for 5 gallon DWC bucket!
The media could not be loaded. Works too well in my 5 gallon DWC bucket, but the 1 plant I have in the bucket loves the air. Some people say it's overkill, but the plant doesn't mind it at all. The only hard thing is finding a pump that matches the suggested CFM of 1.0, in the spirit of overkill, I found an air pump ( EcoPlus 728450 1 to 18W Single Outlet Commercial Air Pump, 793 GPH ) that's rated GPH of 793 or 2.1 CFM... which I thought worked quite well. See video attached. Also used this air tube: LDR 516 B1410 1/4-Inch ID 10-Feet Bag Clear Braided Nylon Tubing
