Clickfree is the best!
I am a 65 year old semi-neophyte when it comes to computers. My daughter gasped when I told her I don't save things on my computer. My head was still in the "floppy" world of saving. She told me that there are light weight hard drives that will save your files and that I had better get one because I could lose all my grand-kids' pictures. After much research and reading countless reviews, I came across Clickfree. I didn't need much convincing that this was the one for me. It is so simple to use. It does the work for you. No more excuses for not saving precious files. Pros: easy to use, small and light weight, easy to transfer files to another computerCons: Hmmm..can't think of any. Thank you Clickfree for "saving" me!

I cannot recommend this product.
This product has auto backup once you plug it into your USB port (some computers will not power the device though), but beware---while you think it is backing up what you want, it probably is not. The 'factory settings' will not backup all files in what you think are your personal folders. And even if you tinker with the backup settings, you will realize shortly that even then, some of your files are not being backed up----the set up screens are not clear at all.I emailed with Clickfree support and it was clear they had no idea how the C2 actually worked---that is, how the set up screens should be set up and what file types had to be added for a comprehensive backup of my personal and other desired files. "Buy the C6" was their answer.I strongly urge anyone considering this product to look at alternatives, such as a blank external hard drive and then using other backup software that is on the market, or just copying your key folders onto that drive manually. Maybe the Apple Time Machine is a viable option for some users.I've had the C2 for several weeks, and each week it surprises me by NOT backing up newly added files in my personal set of folders. The only answer I have at the moment is, before a backup, do a Master Reset of the clickfree, then go through and select all the folders you want copied in their entirety using the set up screens and then do the backup, go back and use the browser to verify those folders/files were backed up. If you don't do this you will be surprised eventually that your stuff wasn't actually backed up. And CF support won't help you---they don't know how to help, based on my experience.Yes, you get the feeling that the C2 is so easy to use---but it's not doing what you think it is. Be very careful and check with the Clickfree browser each time you backup to verify that what you thought was backed up----was.

After the Crash...
It was a little like closing the barn door after the horse got out, but after my hard drive crashed, I really needed this. The hard drive crashed completely and took with it some irreplaceable photos. It literally cracked in half, after only four months of use. (I believe it was defective from the factory). There was no way, even with no expenses spared, that ANY of the data could be recovered. It was under warranty, so the company did replace it, but none of the stuff that was on it would ever come back.So after the heartbreak of all that, and with a Bucket List vacation coming up in the future, I decided to purchase a external system to prevent such a loss ever again. We entrust our computers with much of our lives and this data is as easily lost as an old LP record breaking. The product was personally recommended to me and I was pleased to find it on Amazon at an affordable price. It was delivered promptly and in excellent shape. (An Amazon delivery is always a little like Christmas!)I did find Clickfree quite difficult to use the first time, despite the instructions. After some frustration, I finally called the toll-free tech support line and the IT person talked me through it. I was grateful for this since I find out regularly that I am less knowledgeable about computer things than I'd like to be.Clickfree continues to work well and I am quite relieved to have a second record of my precious photos and important documents. I just must remember to back up my things more often...A hard lesson was learned. Thanks to Clickfree, it's not something I will have to repeat.

Easy to use
Click Free is an amazingly great product and very easy to use. The only problem was before I bought it I thought it would back-up my whole computer. I found out after I used it that this model only backs up the files and not the programs, so if my computer crashed this wouldn't restore a new hard disk or computer. I wish they mentioned that before I bought it because they do have a model that will back up everything including the programs but in their description of the product it didn't make mention of that.

Not for Mac!
I purchased this item because it was supposedly compatible with Mac computers. WRONG. It requires continuous installation of the SAME update, over and over and over again. Then maybe it will work, or maybe you'll get a "can't read the disc you've inserted" message. Not worth the trouble. Got a couple of back-ups out of this and that's it (even though it's supposed to back up automatically every 2 hours; I have to reinstall the update I installed last time; then restart the computer; then reinstall the update, restart, and then MAYBE I can get a back-up out of it - ugh). Got rid of this and got a subscription with Carbonite instead.

I love the backup just next time I would like to have everything included with it. But it was a mistake that was taken care of
