Get It
The usual tiresome and uninformative comic monograph articles and reproductions of Clowes work that you already own is augmented in this book by a number of rare graphic design pieces, covers orignal artwork and impressive emphemera. These make up the most interesting body of Clowe's work I've seen in the last 8 or so years and would be much more expensive to obtain outside of this volume. You should buy it.

Daniel Clowes wows
If you have never seen Daniel Clowes art you are missing out on artistic brilliance. The way he draws and uses colors is quite extoaordinay, to say the least. His poster work for some of the great Seattle grunge bands and lesser known indie bands is remarkable. His ability to blend 50's & 60's Pop art with modern day realism is very cool. If you truly love comic art that is sometimes a little edgy, this book is for you.

Disposes many of the self-conjured fallacies behind the enigmatic Mr. Clowes. Great read for either the enthusiast or the beginner.

A Fittingly Brilliant Artbook For One Of The Most Important Comic Artists
As someone who has followed the work of Dan Clowes since the late 90's, discovering Eightball just before 'David Boring' was serialized, I was able to devour the collected editions released by Fantagraphics of 'Ghost World', 'Like a Velvet Glove Cast in Iron', 'Pussey!', 'Lloyd Llewelyn', and 'Caricature', just as 'David Boring' emerged to unzip my mind. His meticulously rendered stories, along with the work of Charles Burns, Jim Woodring, and Chris Ware, served as catalysts for my addiction to comics. This beautifully produced monograph, edited by former Kramer's Ergot publisher Alvin Buenaventura, is a much-needed appreciation of Clowes' contribution not just as a storyteller but as an artist. The interviews and essays are fascinating, and everything about this oversized monograph is perfectly executed; hopefully, it can serve as inspiration and loose template for any similar projects Abrams might greenlight in the future -- such as more deluxe retrospective art books on the careers of fellow geniuses Charles Burns, Jim Woodring, and Chris Ware (While they're at it, European greats David B., Killoffer, and Blutch would make welcome subjects). In the meantime, this superb book, one of my favorites of the last year (out of the literally hundred-&-something book purchases I made in that period) is available at a price that is very reasonable for a volume of its' calibre. Highest Recommendations (for anyone with a brain and a pulse).

Daniel Clowes, I heart you
I've been a fan of DC since the 90s, fell in LOVE with Ghost World and the depleted landscapes of Clowes. I devoured this book before seeing the Clowes exhibit in Chicago this past summer. Worlds collided. I almost cried standing in front of his brushstrokes.Anyway, this is a fantastic collection for any fan of Clowes.
