What I expected
Works fine with my VIVE - luv it when things actually work

Refurbished seems to be better than new
My last controller seems to have died from "right trackpad disease" where it gets stuck and is unresponsive, ultimately getting to the point where it won't even sync to my computer anymore, however I bought this controller refurbished and it feels like using a brand new one, its been through quite a bit of use already and has not suffered the same fate as my original.

Will never buy a used one again
Bought a used one in supposedly good condition but when I received the controller I found that the thing was busted and looked like someone had chewed on it. It turns on and connects but doesnt track wouldnt reccomend getting used ones

Old controllers were starting to wear out
Bought HTC Vive many years ago, then bought a Vive Pro HMD, now had to buy a new set of controllers. The old ones were having power issues where the charge doesn't last very long anymore. Also, one of them has a pad that is glitchy and one of the pad buttons doesn't register clicks consistently. Next up, I'm expecting the base stations to blow out on me.

Great replacement controller
One of my original HTC Vive controllers stopped working (the thumb tracker) after hundreds of hours of play and years of use. I bought this as a replacement and it works great! Now I have one original/old controller and this new one. The new one works so well, itโs a noticeable difference. It was easy to set up and I havenโt had an issue in the few months Iโve been using it.

Design sucks
Unless if you want a controller that has no joysticks. Then I can't recommend this controller. I wish I had gotten the steam controllers instead. The ergonomics of this controller make trying to play games like beat saber annoying. The lack of joy sticks always interfers in precision selection in games that require wheels or parkour. The controllers are also extremely big. And I like having to replace AA batteries on controllers because you can get rechargeable AA batteries and swap them instantly instead of having to wait for them to charge.

Hit and miss.
The first controller I purchased works like a charm. But the second I purchased I was sent an open box version that keeps glitching and freezing constantly (Returned it.).

Unwieldly And Difficult To Get Used To.
People often try to compare Oculus and Vive to each other in terms of qualities. Generally a lot of qualities Oculus doesn't have, Vive does and vice versa. Well I can safely assure you, Oculus has the better controllers. The Vive wand controllers are generally kind of unwieldly and difficult to get used to and the lack of buttons and emphasis on motion control's only worsens that. If you still want to get a Vive despite this, I'd advise saving up for Valve Knuckles or getting a Vive Cosmos. (DO NOT get the Vive Cosmos Elite though as it doesn't recognize regular Vive Cosmos controllers for some dumb reason.)

Not bad
No finger tracking aside from the touchpad. Besides that itโs a great controller. Just make sure you have your base stations setup properly for decent tracking
