Beautiful quality scarf; cheaper to buy direct from John Hanly
Like the title says, the scarf is quite nice. Although the picture is good, it actually looks even better in real life. It's a little more scratchy than I might like, but I guess that's wool for you.I found that you can go to the John Hanly site directly & get the same scarf for about 1/2 price. (If you're only buying 1 or 2 scarves, you will need to take into account an overseas shipping fee of about $20 as of the time of this review, Nov. 2015). That site also has a better selection of scarves (& other merchandise).

High-quality lambswool scarf offers softness and warmth in an extra-long length
My expectations when I ordered this scarf were that it would be a bit heavier in weight and bulkier than it turned out to be. I'm not disappointed, though. The tightly woven wool is lightweight enough to wrap more than once around a neck which is a good thing since it's quite long (78 inches).Wool clothing can sometimes be a bit scratchy on exposed skin. This John Hanly & Co. scarf is made in Ireland of 100% lambswool and is very soft and doesn't seem to scratch or cause any irritation to my husband's neck. Despite its light weight, it's very warm during these frigid winter days. The rest of my husband's woven wool scarves are shorter and of more muted colors like greys and neutrals. This John Hanly & Co. scarf in the blue/amber is a nice change -- colorful without being garishly bright. The blue and amber are accented with an orangish-red that becomes purplish hues when those areas are woven into the blues. The not-quite-3" fringe is an assortment of all the various fiber colors. The width of the scarf is a little over 10 inches and, as mentioned earlier, it's very long at 78 inches. While the Irish factory that produces these scarves uses more modern methods for weaving today than they did when they operated from the same factory in County Tipperary beginning in the late 1800s, I like the fact that the company has been making them for nearly 125 years.

A nice scarf. Not very long, but long enough.
Very nice scarf for the money, this is warm and soft and very pretty. Again, I wish these came a little longer, because the 'extra long' length is about what I'd call standard for a normal scarf. Still, it's cozy and attractive and it insulates just fine, so it's a good buy, even if it's a little shorter than I might prefer. This is the longest scarf that this company makes, so if you're looking for something really long and drapey, you'll be out of luck. If you just want an inexpensive nice wool scarf of average size, you'll do just fine.

Love it
I drive a convertible...and unless it's raining, the top is down.Always. (Even in a bit of snow.)Now while it doesn't rain a whole lot in my part of California...it does get cold.Especially when driving around with the top down. LOLProblem solved. Not only has this proven to be quite warm, it also looks nice.AND...it's wool...and not some weird synthetic. So I'm pretty certain that it's going to last.Besides, wool has been used for centuries...and this just feels right.

LOVE that they are 100% lambswool
LOVE that they are 100% lambswool: warm, breathable, not itchy - very important.... BUT ....ONE THING: I bought two and joined them on the length - these scarfs are not wide enough to provide complete coverage of my neck. So, that was my solution. They could be wider by another 4 inches and longer by another foot or two.

Genuine and Beautiful Irish Scarf! ☘️
This is a beautiful scarf. It’s a nice long length that allows for styling many ways. Very soft to the touch. Being Scottish I am very pleased with the black watch tartan. Made in Ireland not China.

I love this scarf!!
Love this scarf! I took a chance that the green would match a coat I have and it matches perfectly! Can't wait for it to get cold enough to wear. Everything about the purchase was as described, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase from again...

As soft as a sunny day on Scotland’s lochs
Softly muted colors, soft lambswool against your neck—nothing about this scarf is harsh. The colors are not garish, but softly blended and go with many of my outfits. The 80” length is comfortable for me to wrap or tie. Love this scarf.
