Great Gift
Sorry I can't say much about the book itself. It was a gift for my mother but she said she enjoyed it very much. It's a decently made book and held together well and the print was large enough she had no trouble seeing it. Other than that guess you'd have to buy to find out the story.....

Very interesting
I'm still somewhat early in but it gives a lot of the history and legend about Glastonbury which in recent years has become of interest to me. A good addition to my library.

Excellent but a bit dry
I liked the ease of the read but there was much repetition of concepts without historical context

Wonderful and thorough!
I read this book in preparation for a trip to England and a visit to Glastonbury. This is a well written and thoughtful book that gives the reader a very comprehensive history of the Glastonbury area. It's a nice balance of traditional science and alternative archaeology, and I felt that my experience when I visited was enhanced from having read this book first. I highly recommend that anyone planning a visit here read this book! Or, if you are interested in ancient British cultures and/or the Arthur legends or the book The Mists of Avalon, this will certainly interest you.

Informative and Interesting
I have not yet finished this book, as it does take awhile to read. It is very informative and has a lot of intersting facts about this Avalon and Glastonbury; however, it can be difficult to read.

The Isle of Avalon
Many years ago I lived just down the road from Glastonbury and spent many an evening walking over wearyall hill or up the tor. They are cherished memories, and more recently I've felt a yearning to return, so purchased this book for the pleasure of armchair travelling. It's a lovely book that covers all the main myths and legends - I learned some things I didn't know before and feel that even if you have never visited the Isle of Avalon - you would perhaps gain a sense of the mysterious quality of the countryside. I think this would be a good book to read before a visit - a sort of alternative guide book.
