Star Wars: An Obi-Wan & Anakin Adventure: A Choose Your Destiny Chapter Book Kindle Edition

So here's my nerd moment: I bought the Kindle version of this because I heard that my favorite character from the now-nonexistent EU (besides Kreia, that is) is in it.As someone who's never tried his hand at this genre, well, it was interesting. The art's okay, given the target audience. The story, meanwhile . . . Honestly? There are times when you could totally justify a decision, but that decision would almost inevitably lead you to endings of various degrees of darkness (violence, injury, I seem to remember a couple of implicit deaths, but I could be wrong) and the infuriating text: "Can you help Anakin and Obi-Wan make better choices?"I'll say this as an adult: I think the choices are too nuanced for the kids this book is meant for. I could easily see them getting frustrated. (The "pacing" of them is odd as well: sometimes there are many in quick succession, and sometimes you'll go through long periods of nothin'.) The plot as a whole is fine? I think it would have made a better kids' novel than choose-your-own-adventure book.Finally, there are some incredibly out-of-character moments--picture Obi-Wan losing his temper and literally yelling at a ~12 year old Anakin. There's also a plot hole related to the disguises at the end, which kind of ruins my suspension of disbelief, but that's probably me nit-picking.EDIT: For hoots and hollers, here's my $0.02 on how to make this book better:Don't have any "game over" style choices. Some of them are rather dark, considering it's supposed to be a kids' book. You can have "bad" choices (and make them obviously poor decisions), but don't just cut the story off and force the reader to start over, or to backtrack and find their last "good" choice. (This is especially a pain in the butt on a Kindle.)Long and short, I think this is too complicated for the audience it was meant for and the characterizations feel off--but, hey, Bant Eerin survived the destruction of the EU, so I'm happy for that.

My 8 year old son is having so much fun reading these. It took him a little bit to get the concept and figure out how to 'win' the book since there are right and wrong choices but he is going crazy reading these!

My 8 year old loves these books. We now have the whole series. Highly recommend for kids who love Star Wars.

Un altro librogame a marchio Star Wars ben realizzato.Ottimo per impegnare due/tre ore, narrazione lineare di formazione per la coppia maestro e apprendista, corredata dalle bellissime illustrazioni di Elsa Charretier.

I bought this because I really like Star Wars and I was curious about this kind of narration. The story is nice, pretty simple and short, but since it's intended for young readers I guess that's ok.The wrong choices aren't always well justified in my opinion, but in the end it's a good book if you like the saga and are looking for a light reading

Irgendwie gibt es nicht wirklich viele unterschiedliche Wege für die man sich entscheiden kann. Entweder man wählt den "Richtigen" und kommt weiter in der Story oder man wählt den "Falschen" und es kommt zum vorzeitigen Ende. An sich gute Idee, aber leider noch nicht ganz ausgereift.
