"Telling you I loved It Happened One Wedding would not be exaggerating."
Sidney decides six months after a major breakup to get back into the dating game. She has compiled a list of thirty-four items that men either will or will not do that are deal breakers for her. When she meets an investment banker for coffee and the date ends up being a dud, she is surprised and shocked by the audacity of the handsome and rugged man who stops by her table to hit on her. Due to her discomfort and if she would honestly admit her attraction, Sidney does what she does best — she uses her sarcasm as a buffer and verbally lets loose on the confident and unsuspecting man only to find out later that he is soon to be a part of her family.FBI Special Agent Vaughn Roberts is a ladies man and he knows it. He is confident, sexy, and secure in the knowledge that he basically can date and sleep with any woman he wants at any time and they’ll know the score. He isn’t looking for commitment and loves being able to date as many women as possible. Then he sees Sidney in a coffee shop and his whole dating mojo is thrown for a loop by a sarcastic auburn haired beauty that he knows he has no business messing with. Unbeknownst to Vaughn, his fate is sealed. In true Julie James style, she has brought together two seemingly different characters and made them human with just the right amount of comedy and sexiness to keep the reader totally hooked on the storyline. Vaughn is your typical lothario – he’s foot loose and fancy free and doesn’t mind dating all types of women but ask him to commit, and he is out of the door. Sidney I could relate to so much. She is smart, sexy, and has a great career, but because of a situation with a former fiancé six months ago, she doubts her ability to find Mr. Right. And then she meets Special Agent Roberts.Telling you I loved It Happened One Wedding would not be exaggerating. I can’t rave enough about how well written, funny and extremely sensual this book was. I laughed out loud more than once watching and reading Vaughn and Sidney’s relationship unfold right before my eyes. They didn’t know what hit them and that’s just the way I liked it! It Happened One Wedding revisits Vaughn’s FBI buddies and while readers do not have to have read prior books by Ms. James to enjoy It Happened One Wedding, I recommend going back and reading every single release because they are just as amazingly wonderful as this, her latest release. This book was reviewed by Talia Ricci for Joyfully Reviewed (JR), and was provided by the publisher/author at no cost to JR for the purpose of being reviewed.

Loved it
**May contain little spoilers**Read it all in one morning. This book is just good, modern contemperary romance at its best.Loved both Vaughn and Sidney, who behave like the adults they are throught all the story. No scheming, no hysterics, and, thanks to the author, not much out-of-the-blue coincidences for the two of them - but for the fact that they are the siblings of two people who are about to get married to each other. Still, that is just the reason for them to get past their initial dislike of each other. To clarify: Vaughn hit on Sidney right away - he meets her in a bar, without knowing who she is - and he was so perfectly charming that I thought he deserved an opportunity, but I loved how Sidney explained to him in detail how she will never go for his type - the too-charming one who can have every woman he wants and see no reason to stop navigating the dating scene.I agreed with both of them on this point.Vaughn wasn't commitment-phobic, he just loved his life the way it was and was upfront about what he wanted. He wasnt' trying to fool anyone, he was just... content. Not feeling a need for something more, which is not a crime.Sidney instead... She has been cheated on by her fiancèe two weeks before her wedding and is consequently a little disillusioned by the idea of love. She doesn't blame the whole male world for what happened to her, but she wants to avoid making the same mistakes. She tries to be analytical about the guys she meets. She goes to a lot of first dates because she has been badly hurt, but she won't give up - just because she is ready to be happy with someone else.I loved that these two characters were not only attracted to each other, but became real friends because of the time they spent together. There was some hot sex, but it serves to create an intimacy between them. After the sex they are more relaxed and ready to admit they like each other as persons - simply because they finally start talking more. And while you just know that Sidney is going to start falling in love with Vaughn after getting to know him better, it doesn't go on with her confessing her feelings and leaving him, thus making him understand he loves her. When Sidney understands that she is starting to have a very soft spot for Vaughn, she resolves to stop creating occasions for contact. Logical, reasonable. But thoughts of him keep making their way into her mind without her wanting to, and the same goes for Vaughn. It's not just told, we are shown how they think of each other in the most natural way. What I really liked is how Vaughn 'changed' at the end, all by himself. Something happens to him that prompts him to see he wants the life he hadn't considered before - the happily-ever-after one. It's not just because of Sidney - it would have been romantic, but maybe I have read about love trasforming a person one time too many - but because he understands that he is ready, that he wants a life full of something that up until that moment he hadn't realised he missed. The romantic part is that this need was created by Sidney little by little, without her even trying. My only fear towards the end was the lack of a good epilogue. This one doesn't take place years later, but is nonetheless an epilogue that left with a very satisfied smile. With few sentences we, the readers, and they, the characters, know that their newfound love will last.Loved it!

So much fun!
Reading IT HAPPENED ONE WEDDING reminded me how much Julie James is truly a master at writing banter between her main characters. She always knows how to get that perfect amount of snarky and confidence without it becoming overbearing or annoying. Vaughn liked keeping things casual and Sidney was tired of commitment-phobic men but now they're forced to work together while their respective siblings get married. These two were a lot of fun together, from their meet not-so-cute, to their biting comebacks, to their battle of wills. And when they start slowly becoming friends and then transition to lovers its done in such a seamless and natural way. And wow were these two really hot together!I loved Vaughn and Sidney equally, both as individual characters and as a couple. They're both strong willed people, competent in their jobs, confident in their personal lives (Vaughn a little more than Sidney), and both dedicated to their family. I also really appreciated that Vaughn's casual dating lifestyle wasn't because he had some tragic backstory or because he'd been burned and never got over it. He just enjoyed being single and keeping things simple and that was really refreshing.

So so good
Wow. What a great book. New author to me and I’ve had this on my kindle for a while and after finishing it (couldn’t put it down) couldn’t believe I’d left it so long. Terrific writing, wonderful characters and story. So in love with Vaughn and Sidney. Sidney taking snark to a whole new level and Vaughn so yummy andperfect for her. Do not miss this terrific book. Can’t wait to read more in the series and others by this author.

Silly me
I did a silly thing with this book I read it after reading a review on one of the websites I follow. Not so silly there except it was book 6 in Julie James's FBI/US Attorney series. Although it can be read as a stand alone book I found that I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to find out about the other people that we meet in the book and I wasn't disappointed. So from a personal point of view I would say start at book 1 as people you meet in that book continue to show up in the following books, but if your just looking for a good stand alone one off book to read you could do a lot worse that this one.

Great Read
I am a total fan of this series and have really enjoyed this book. I love the characters and also the storyline. The sex scenes fit into the other and are not gratuitous. Julie J a message is now one of . My favourite authors.

So funny
Julie James has done well to match romance and humour. There were definite sections of laugh out loud for me. A modern and contemporary love story with great characters. A must read.

It Happened One Wedding
I love Julie James! She writes a straightforward romance, but manages to fit in plenty of humour along the way. You will love these characters.
