Baby Animals (Scholastic True or False) (1)

I'm a teacher and one of my students checked this out at the library during our visit. The rest of the class loved it so much that I bought a copy for the classroom. We were already learning about baby animals and life cycles so it was a topic we'd talked a lot about but they still learned a lot of new information and a number of interesting facts. Not only were they able to read it on their own or with a little help from a classmate (Kindergarteners, ranging from late K to late first grade reading levels), I love that the structure of the book helped them understand the meaning of "true" and "false" and allowed them to think about what they knew or thought they knew before finding out the answer on the next page. They took to reading the book to each other and quizzing their friends on whether the facts were correct or not. Coupled with the great photos of a variety of baby animals, it was a big hit.

Every year at my high school we do this thing called Adopt-A-Child where a kid from an elementary school is chosen due to their family's financial background. These kids come to the high school for a day and each child is placed in a classroom. Each class plans out a Christmas party for the child and buys them gifts based off of a short list of preferences the kids are asked to fill out on a sheet of paper before they come. The little girl we were given this year said she liked animals, so I bought her this as one of her gifts, and she loved it!The package came quickly and on time. Totally worth it.

My daughter loves this book. the pictures are adorable and the facts make the book interesting to read for all ages. definitely recommend
