Henry Reed's Babysitting Service Paperback – May 1, 1989

In this third installment of the Henry Reed series, Henry and Midge decide to start babysitting after coming back from their road trip in the previous book. Henry thinks it won't be difficult, but he doesn't know what he's getting into. Henry has kids disappear on him, peacocks scream for help in the dawn of morning, has someone pretend to be a ghost to scare his kids and get back at him, and even gets forms from the IRS. The previous two books had events swirl wildly out of control, while this one is a little more controlled. Nevertheless, it is a hilarious and inventive book.

Bummer the book came damaged. It was a gift and now it’s not gift-able. But still giving the stars for such a fun series.

I read the Henry Reed books when I was a kid, and now my 11-year-old enjoys them. Lovely, wholesome, and engaging stories of young Henry, his summer friend Midge, and their everyday adventures. My son read this one for a school book report. He said to give it five stars.

I loved this book as a kid. My son loved this book as a kid. And now I bought it for my grandkids. The stories never get old.

I read the Henry Reed books as a kid many years ago. My 10 year old son loves them! some things stand the test of time!

My husband selected this book to read aloud and video record on the computer for our kids and grandkids. I could hear him laughing while he was trying to read it. It remains to be seen what the kids think:)
