Bullet proof space saving MIDI controller for your pedal board.
The Tech 21 MIDI Mouse has been my go-too MIDI Controller for all my Pedalboard MIDI needs for years now. I recently picked up a Geckoplex EP-5 (V-2) that has MIDI capabilities. So the ability to have an amazingly accurate sounding Echoplex in a pedal format without needing tape (or constant repair or maintenance) and two dozen MIDI programmable presets was a no-brainer when it came to buying a MIDI controller. That the MIDI Mouse runs on either 9V or 110 makes it so simple to use and at under $120 it fits most budgets of gigging musicians. Highly recommended!

relatively affordable and compact, doesn't like 9v daisy chains or being run from a battery
The best thing about the MIDI Mouse is how compact it is; a larger stompbox that can fit comfortably on a pedalboard. It comes with a neat little transport tin (and a foam insert to prevent it from rattling around). The unit appears to be durable, though I will see how it holds up in the next few months. The switches, though lacking the tactile bump from my preferred stompboxes, are a fantastic match with the box's simple navigation system. The smooth-actuating switches make it easy to scroll quickly in search mode without being worried about a clunky release that causes you to miss your mark. Most of the time I just build patches that I want to use close together and sit in Active mode, but overall the navigation system is better than I had expected. If you, like me, are planning on using the MIDI Mouse in a guitar setup, I highly suggest you power it with a dedicated 9v adapter instead of your effects daisy chain. I didn't have a good time trying chain this little guy with effects pedals. It introduced an overpowering hum to my signal path when included in my chain. Not a big deal, but something to consider price-wise if you need to buy an extra adapter. The unit's functionality is somewhat limited on battery power. After a few seconds, the pedal will "go to sleep" to conserve power and you will no longer be able to see which patch you are on. To wake it up again you need to give it an extra input which makes quick changes more difficult. Even in Search mode it will fall asleep which means you can't set your patch jumps up in advance (which, honestly, makes no sense... I think this would be a five star product if the power saving "sleep" feature wasn't built into Search mode). This is another reason why I recommend a 9v adapter.

Simple program changer...nothing more!
The MIDI Mouse is exactly what I need for my use case...what is said use case? I have a Morningstar MC6 that I use to directly control my Neural DSP Quad Cortex amp simulator/profiler. I've disabled the bank up/down on because the switches are too close and I kept accidentally hitting them, but then this disabled any ability to switch banks on the unit as to be expected. I don't need immediate access to program changes, and on my setlist all I have to do is know that program "#" is "X" song. So if I'm about to play "Wicked Garden" by STP and that is bank 3 on my Morningstar MC6...I go to #3 on the MIDI Mouse to change the bank on my MC6 to bank #3 (it doesn't affect the live sound at all yet), which then I use a function on the MC6 to tell the Quad Cortex to go to the preset I need. I need to use approximately ~0.1% of my brain when it comes to finding the preset and setup I need for each song which is crucial during a gig that I can just concentrate on the performance...just knowing the # which is in bright red 80's style LED on the MIDI mouse and I'm good to go!!! Small footprint, bright display, single function, nothing more. Good stuff Tech21!!!

Perfect for inexperienced MIDI users.
This is the first midi controller I've ever used. I bought a Line 6 M5 a while back and quickly realized that it would be a lot more useful if there was a way to switch between the presets with just one stomp. I didn't need anything complicated, so the midi mouse was the perfect solution. I can switch between presets on the fly without having to worry about menus, pressing multiple switches at the same time, etc. I also love the switches themselves on this box. One reviewer said they were loud. That couldn't be further from the truth with my unit. They are very soft and very quiet. Overall I am very satisfied with the MIDI Mouse.

Great midi foot switch
Outstanding little midi control foot switch. simple and it works, just what I needed. I use it to control changing snapshots on a Behringer digital mixer and it was true plug and play - plugged it in and it worked. very solid high quality build

Great item but one flaw.
Simple item does what it says BUT there is no midi offset. All my devices have a midi offset to compensate for the starting point. For example most products you can have it start at 0 or 1 depending on you pedal board. When I hook this up eveything is off by one number.Other than that great product.

Just what I needed
Perfect match for my Nova System, I can switch presets & still use an Expression Pedal. Easy set up, had it rolling in under 5 minutes. LOVE the small footprint and the Active Search feature.
