Sweet and Soothing, an Enjoyable Opposites Attract Romance
If there's one thing that's safe to say about a Roan Parrish romance, is it's sure to be unique, and Natural Enemies is definitely unique.Milo and Stefan are botanists, and that's where their similarities end. But they sure do make beautiful music together in the bedroom...Roan Parrish paints a vivid picture of these two men, and we get interesting details of their lives (both together, and apart). I found Natural Enemies to be soothing and sweet, and pretty darn romantic. Just a really enjoyable opposites attract romance.

Beautiful romance, stellar writing!
Uber sexy, frothy, snarky with a layer of urban grit that I love but don't often find my in M/M reads. Milo and Stefan burrowed deep in my heart and stayed there. Don't throw stuff at me but the writing was reminiscent of the writer who shall not be named. Funny, gritty in parts, snarky and just over the top sexy. Captured NYC so well. Yes, it was short. So what!! It was just what I needed while the world explodes around me. I read with a goofy smile on my face and squirmed during the smexy bits. Absolutely loved the ease with which the diverse characters are captured. Kudos Ms. Parrish!! Writing flowed. That combination of the botany terms, flower descriptions and Latin names woven into the romance was superb. "His voice was flower petals and pollen and honey." "A hedonist. Stiff and well-armored, he spread out in the warm sun and bloomed." "But it's like hope in a pot." Sighhhhh! Just loved this. I've read a couple of her other books but was blown away by this. More, please....

A sweet MM romance
Buttoned-up botanist Stefan Albemarle has always felt like an outsider. He keeps to himself and lives for his career. Urban gardener Milo Rios is passionate about his job at the Brooklyn Botanical Garden. He spends his life beautifying the world around him with plants and teaching teens how to do the same. These two are total opposites but they can’t get enough of each other.“Somehow, all the things that made us so different also captivated me. Like within him lived a whole other world I had never given much thought to. And all I felt was content here, like this, with him.”This was a cute MM romance. Milo was sweet, charming, and controlling when he needed to be. When he discovered he could make plants grow as a teen it completely changed his life. Now he lives to help his community and others find joy in growing things. Stephan is a structured, controlled, and standoffish man. His life has taught him that he is different from others and people don’t like him. In reality he is just a lonely, sweet man who needed someone to break down his barriers. I loved these two. The chemistry was off the charts between them and the feelings soon followed.“The power of a strong relationship is that it can take on more than either person could on their own, right?”This was my first Roan Parrish book but it will not be my last. I really enjoyed this quick romance. I do wish it was longer though because I wasn’t ready to let this sweet couple go.

Really worked for me! Hot, POC botanists!
Hot dirty talk, science geeks, and opposites attract? Hell YES!I really enjoyed Natural Enemies by Roan Parrish, even more than I expected to. I mean, I usually have fairly low expectations for novellas, but this surprised me.The pace is rather fast, but it's only a little over 100 pages, so that's to be expected. However, we got some serious heat and some serious emotions, so I'm a happy camper. I think if bossy dirty talk is your thing (raises hand), then you'll enjoy this one.Of course, I would have probably enjoyed another 50 pages, but I got such great vibes from this story that I'll take it just as it is.

A delightful walk through a garden relationship
I was hooked from the first sentence straight to the end. Roan Parrish’s characters are always honest and vulnerable, which is what I love most about them. But the setting amongst gardens and plants in NYC made this book especially enjoyable. A perfect read for a sunny afternoon or a mild evening or, really, anytime.

Botanists are Sexy!
No doubt about it, scientists are hot! At least these two are in this glorious novella set in Brooklyn. This was a crazy sexy novella about two extremely different men. Both botanists, one community focused, the other research focused. What starts out as a heated debate soon turns into debauched sex. These two are seriously hot together, and I loved seeing a self contained, proper man of science turn into a pleading bottom. Truly glorious!I also loved that Roan Parrish gave us two sexy men of color for our MCs. I love seeing more diversity in my romances!A great read any way you look at it! Have fun and enjoy, I sure did!

Such a sweet read!
I love how Roan’s characters are more than meets the eye. They are eccentric and pull you in. You want to know more about them, see what makes them tick, and you get all of that with her writing. I adooooored Stephan and Milo. Both men are sweet, caring, loving, and hot as hell together. Like you may need a fan at times. ;) Lastly I loved the setting of the story. I love plants and flowers so reading this just makes me want to go fill up my garden with more. And Milo’s apartment sounds gorgeously amazing! If you want a sexy and sweet quick read, you get that right here.

Good Enemies-to-Lovers Romance
This was a very good enemies-to-lovers story!! And I LOVED that the characters were from botany field, both passionate with their jobs.I loved how different they both were -- Stefan is a little stuck-up and arrogant and thinks his science field is better but at the same time he is also vulnerable as hell. Milo who is more friendly and warm, trying to make botany approachable for everyone, but shows he is also only human for making a mistake with quick judge of Stefan's situation. I LOVED the process of these two falling in love :)

Want more of these two!
This story hit all the right notes for me. Opposites attract, enemies to lovers, sexy, fun, character depth and growth. Acceptance. No instalove, but almost, but not, which is awesome b/c instalove is hella annoying. Pretty remarkable in a novella. I wish it was twice as long, and covered a longer time period, loved these two mc’s. And loved how Stef came around and opened up. Just so much sweetness and oodles of Sexy in here. Yum.

Different personalities formed by different lives, beautiful seed for love
An introvert and an extrovert, both fascinated by the world of plants. Although their opposite approaches to botany seem to be in contrast, they realize that they're only different sides of all the goodness in their own hearts. The path through pride, diffidence, and inevitable judging-the-book-by-its-cover on both parts is thorny but sweet, as they find their other half in each other.

Brilliant and uplifting
I really enjoyed this book because the characters were so different but the same.. Stefan strong but closed off rejecting life before it rejected him and Milo only living in the present happy but afraid to look forward.. Together finding that thing that makes sense of life.. Lovely read, my first from this author but not my last..Enjoy

Klare Leseempfehlung

Dont judge by the cover. Its a Fantastic book.
❤🔥❤🔥❤ Loved this..Dont let the cover discourage from getting this. This is definitely a beautiful and smokin hot story.I loved these characters i thought Milo could definitely help Stefan to relax a bit more and stop being so stiff. A Job vs Love kinda book. Hot chemistry between them making the sheets melt. Milo is a sweetie who felt he didnt fit in anywhere with people often alone.Stefan (black skinned) worked in a lab and pretty much kept to himself. When he's been sent an email containing a link, a picture catching his eye to a gorgeous man. Stefan was peved he'd been missed from the article. Jealousy leads him to find Milo..lolMilo 28 was a botanist and sparks fly when these two meet.
