Vida Perez-Velazquez is the founder (and hands) of the handmade, small batch grooming requisites coming out of Oleo. Like many in the wet shaving world, Vida was inspired to try her hand at soap-making because of persistent skin issues that were only exacerbated by commercial soaps and moisturizers. In addition to a fabulous performance, her products have a plethora of scents! But the performance is top-notch. The Canard base shaving soap is a duck fat grooming requisite. And boy, does it deliver. Loaded with skin nourishing kokum butter, palm oil, castor oil, jojoba oil (hence the name Oleo - oil), this soap is slick and protective. The duck fat too gives it a dense, rich lather. It is a thirsty soap, so don't be afraid of a little water. This hot process soap is poured into a low profile, wide mouth container for easy brush loading. This aroma was inspired by Creed's Virgin Island Water and as such evokes a tropical vibe. Vida named her scent Bonaire ("good air" and the name of a Caribbean island). Imagine the tropical breezes and exotic scents carried on the trade winds in the days of Sir Francis Drake.
