Works well but needs time and some setting up.
I purchased the Aigoss as I wanted to be able to control my amplifier via my Google Home, adding the turning on and off to a Google Assistant routine. It took rather more figuring out than expected so I'm hoping that this will help people who may be struggling with it. Once set up though, the device functions really well.I already have routines set up on my Google Home to turn lights and TV on and off together and wanted to be able to add the amp for lazy convenience. As it's a somewhat unusual brand (XTZ) I suspected it was unlikely to be pre-programmed in the Aigoss's codes; I also wanted to be able to control every command (and there are some specific to the XTZ such as switching between Class A and Class AB modes).....so I needed to set it up as a DIY remote, programming each button manually.I use TuyaSmart for all my non-Google devices such as smart sockets and link them via my TuyaSmart account to my Google account in the Home app. Whilst you CAN register, programme and operate the Aigoss in the TuyaSmart app, it won't work with Google Home (at least not how I want it to).I contacted Aigoss and they said I needed to set up 'Scenarios' in the app, however I found there was still no way to connect the IR Remote to Google once I'd done this (Google would not see the scenarios or would execute them all together which was useless).I found out that there's a way to do this using IFTTT, although annoyingly IFTTT does not work with TuyaSmart! However it WILL work with SmartLife. Here's the process I used:1) Install SmartLife and set up an account.2) To add the Aigoss you'll need to make sure your wifi is 2.4Ghz only (turn off any 5Ghz in your router settings temporarily to do this).3) Click '+' top right and then choose 'Others' on the left-hand side. Under here you'll find 'Universal Remote Control'; click to add. Press and hold the reset button on the Aigoss so it is blinking fast. Add the Aigoss to SmartLife.4) If you're setting up a custom remote, you'll need to click 'Add Remote Control', then 'DIY' and then 'Custom Type'.5) Click 'Next' twice. Now point your remote at the front of the Aigoss (opposite the power socket) and SHORT press the first button on the remote you want to program. It should say 'IR signal detected', at which point you'll be presented with a 'Cancel' option and a greyed-out 'Save' option. It took me some time to work out that above those buttons is actually a custom text entry field. Tap on it a type in the name of the button you just taught the Aigoss and click 'Save'.6) Continue adding the DIY commands, working through each button on the remote and naming it correctly in SmartLife. Once that's done, save everything!7) It is possible to give the Aigoss a custom name (I called it 'Remote' - very imaginative!) and then each programmed remote can be uniquely-named too (I called mine 'Amp'...).8) Once the remote commands are all done, you need to set up your Scenarios. Tap the 'Smart' icon at the bottom-middle of the screen and click '+'.9) I wanted to be able to issue single commands for each function (ie. 'Turn on the amp', 'Mute the amp', 'Turn off the amp' etc) so you'll need to create a scenario for each function you want to control. Click the pencil at the top to edit the name of the scenario (eg. 'Amp on') and then click the 'Add Action' button. Then click 'Device', then the remote you just set up (in my case 'Amp') and then the command you want that action to do.10) Once you have each scenario set up, you're ready to get stuck into IFTTT...I found that IFTTT was needed in order to prevent Google trying to execute all the scenarios at once. There may be a way to do it without needing IFTTT but this is 100% working for me as I need it to so I'll share it here.11) Create an account on IFTTT and log in - I found this quicker and easier to do on a computer rather than phone. You'll need to link your Google and SmartLife accounts to IFTTT for this. Then go to 'www.ifttt.com/create' to create new applets.12) Click on the grey 'THIS' and choose Google Assistant from the tiles that appear.13) Create your trigger phrase; in my case this was a simple phrase; "Turn on the Amp". You can add permutations here if you require, eg. "Turn the amp on," or "Turn on the Amplifier," etc. You can also set the confirmation that Google Assistant will respond with.14) Now click the grey 'THAT' and select SmartLife from the tiles that appear.15) Select 'Activate Scene' and in the drop-down choose the corresponding scene for the trigger you created in SmartLife, they will each be listed there (this is why we created a scenario for each unique command earlier). Click 'Create Action' and then under 'Review and Finish'; I turned OFF applet notifications (Google Assistant will tell me if the command was carried out so I don't need IFTTT notifying me too). Click 'Finish'.16) Open your Google Home app and click 'Add', then 'Set up device'. Under 'Works with Google', click 'Have Something already set up?' and scroll to SmartLife. Link your SmartLife account to your Google Assistant (you'll need to sign in to SmartLife and authorise Google to have the ability to control your SmartLife devices). You should now be able to control individual device functions via the Aigoss using Google Home. I then added 'Turn on the amp' to my 'Turn on the Living Room' routine and 'Turn off the amp' to my 'Turn off the Living Room' routine. Now when I run those routines, all lights come on, TV turns on (it's Android so natively controlled by Google anyway) and it now turns on my amplifier! So in summary, the Aigoss does work really well once it's set up. Using a DIY control required a lot more tweaking to make it work. This isn't necessarily a fault of Aigoss, more that Google and the SmartLife app can't work out custom remote commands without a little assistance from setting up the scenarios and then creating triggers in IFTTT.For £20-odd and a little bit of time and patience, it all works exactly how I wanted. Hope this is useful!

Get rid of remote controls, use only one device
The media could not be loaded. I am totally in love by this device. It is not replacing all remote controls in your house, but makes a dump device into a smart one connecting this device to Alexa. The universal controller came very well packed, and the manual clear enough.Pairing with the "smart life "application was easy after resetting the device.Adding the TV was easy, I just had to choose the brand and that was all. I already had the app linked with Alexa and immediately Alexa picked the TV.I have some RGB strip lights controlled via infrared and it was very easy to add it to this controller. Just need to go to the DIY and "learn" the buttons from original remote control. After that rename the buttons and that is all. I will add all my IR devices to this IR controller and in this way I will not worry about losing a remote, all devices will be controlled from a central point. The range of this IR is impressive, as you can see from my video, the controller is not in the straight line with TV, but the TV picks the commands easily.Recommend 100%

Mostly compatible with Alexa
I have managed to get the device to contol my standard devices - TV, DVD player etc - and even created a few DIY remotes for the ones which were not standard, however the Alexa integration is a bit poor.Alexa will manage the TV but not the DVD player and can not find the DIY ones at all.The lack of documentation is a real problem because I have had to guess the control phrases to ask alexa to do anything,It has eliminated a couple of remotes but not all and although there is a smart app for the phone, I'm too old to have my nose in my phone 24/7

Works well in app, alexa needs refining, doesn't work whole house as stated.
The media could not be loaded. This product is a great idea, few gripes, the alexa first, the control works for basic functions, TV on/off amp on and volume one click at a time, I'd like to see ability to do multi clicks, and my amp standby button is different to power one, but if you say alexa amplifier standby she can't do it. And Alexa amplifier volume up dose one click, alexa amplifier volume up 3 clicks, she says OK but nothing happens. I would like to see grouping a function so if I say alexa TV on amp and TV get turned on, and Alexa TV off I can set it to turn TV off and press the standby button of amp..As an app remote on phone everything seems to work well, most buttons can be accessed. The box is advertised as a unit power full enough to control whole house, TV in bedroom above can not be controlled from the box, and small house so that's the only other TV/thing to control.

Great device for the price
Very good device for the price. Some of the remote options are a bit simple (eg cannot control power "on" and "off" - only a simple power "toggle", which doesn't work well for automation) but on the whole it works very well.Good support for a wide variety of devices, and I've been able to fully integrate to Alexa and create some bespoke routines - eg "Turn on Netflix" will turn on my TV, Amp and Digi box, select the Netflix channel and push the red button. Very versatile in that respect.
