My daughter is petite, and many times a size 8 on her can be big. Not this piece. Runs very small. Size up. We will be exchanging for a size 10. For reference, she is 52 inches and only 60 lbs, and we need a size 10. I hope this helps.

My 6 1/2 year old is slim - the size 6 fit her perfectly. My 5 1/2 year old is tall and weighs more than her older sister. The size 6 also fit her, but differently. The both love these. Only sad part is the belts aren't very sturdy, and have already broken - I just retied them in a small knot, and it's fine.
