I installed this on my bayliner 14 foot. 1401 LS boat woth a 30hp suziki 4 stroke. It was eady to install. It saves me fuel and the boat drives stright now and gets me on plane quickly. My boat is under powered. So I used this to help me get on plane fater and wow it did a great job. Would buy again ! Night and day difference. Now I just ordered a new prop to get even better performance

Took less then 30 minutes to install on my 1980 7.5 HP Johnson. Made a world of difference keeping the bow down on the 1977 Grumman 15' Sport Canoe.The Grumman was pretty much unusable riding alone with no weight in the front and all my 185# in the back seat where I can run the motor. The bow popped up at very low speed and just never went down. Steering at any speed was downright scary. After watching some YouTubes on similar boats, I decided on the Stingray Jr.Today, after installing the Stingray Jr, I took it out and the boat was controllable, with only a little rise in the bow, even at full throttle. Steering is still a little squirrely, so my next step will be to install an extension on the tiller so I can run the boat from the middle seat. I'm also adding a deadman kill switch since the stock kill switch requires pressing a button on the tiller and that won't work from the middle seat.So far, I am totally satisfied with the Stingray Jr for keeping the bow down on my boat when I'm riding alone. We'll see how long it lasts. It appears well built and sturdy, but time will tell.Update: Added the tiller extension and now I have a very steerable, very predictable, safe handling boat.

You need one of these. Installed properly, and it's not terribly difficult, you will swear you just put a bigger motor on your boat. Note, they do come in different sizes so make sure you get the right size for your motor. I've used these on my 16 ft. outboard aluminum boat, 18 ft. outboard fiberglass ski boat, and 20 ft. inboard cuddy-cabin boat and performance, especially getting up on plane, was way better on all three. If you're worried about drilling mounting holes in your cavitation plate, just have a boat shop install it. They shouldn't charge more than an hour of labor.

Easily install, but I had to modify it and hacksaw off about 4 inches so it would fit my 9.8 Tohatsu. It appeared it was made with grooves just for this purpose, but gave no instruction to do this if the fin was to wide to fit on the plate of the outboard. Mounted it and it works great. I still have to have the motor tilted back as far as it will go to prevent cavitation. It planes out now almost immediately. My motor is on a 10 foot Mercury Air Deck.

I'm not usually one to review products. My 12' jon boat would not plane correctly, bow high, sort of plowing through the water. The more horse power I added, the worse it got. At 7.5hp this boat was not reacting correctly. Since I was frustrated, I got this Stingray Classic Jr. The boat planes perfectly flat, it's amazing, speed just about doubled when I'm alone! 14mph! It took some grinding to narrow it and get it to fit correctly, but it's solid plastic, and made to be adjustable. I'm very happy the purchase, hope this helps somebody else with a short jon boat. It was kind of a pain in the ass to install on a 2005 mercury bigfoot 25. But that's not sting rays fault. It looks good and seems to work. Not a wonder fix all but it definitely plane off a 2006 boston whaler 130 sport faster.

I had a hydrofoil on my ski boat and knew a hydrofoil would improve my 15 ft fishing Jon boat with a 25 hp Mercury outboard. The boat is just as fast, gets up on plain almost immediately, and is more stable at full throttle. The change was even more dramatic than on my ski boat. The pic show the installation. The difficulty on a scale of one to five is a two. The only difficult part is locating where to drill. This is a 20-90 minute job depending on how comfortable you are with drilling and tool. Wow it works great!!!I have a 14 foot old aluminum v-hull with a 8hp Mariner motor. Could never get on plane before. Before got 6mph up stream in Cumberland River and 8mph down stream. I put on hydrofoil and was pretty easy mounting. Hated to drill holes but well worth end results. Took me about hour but I took my time. Now boat gets on plane right aeay with me in boat in back. Runs so much better in plane and easy to see from sitting position. Now get 9mph up stream and 11-12 diwn stream. Super super happyBuy itIt works!!!Happy happy boaterGreat product Stingray Jr

It would not fit on my mercury 6hp, but it did say 9.9hp to 40hp. I took a chance. Good quality and fast delivery.
