I needed a way to extend the wired remote control on an electric hoist I am using in my garage. The remote was mounted on a five foot long electrical cord. Two of these junction boxes allowed me to splice in twenty feet of additional 110 vac, four conductor cord so that I could control the hoist mounted in the peak of the garage joists.This junction box provides a very strong, water (oil, dirt, etc.) proof splice in a compact package. The package included a small Philips head screwdriver required to secure the conductors to the splicing block. Cutting the stripped wires to the proper length and stringing the individual junction box elements on the cable ends required attention to detail, and a little trial and error. Oddly, the junction boxes did not come with instructions. This splice was done on a four conductor appliance cord. I do not believe that this junction box would work with Romex cable.This is a specialized item to do a specialized job, which it does well.

I purchased these for a landscape lighting project and am impressed. I used them for 12VDC and 120VAC air exposed and/or underground junctions (and tested them to 24VDC and 240VAC). No current leakage even after several weeks immersed in wet soil. Compact, effective, and inexpensive. What's not to like. I'll be buying more.

This item does exactly what it says however this is not an UL listed device and should not be used in place of one. I mistakenly bought this product when it popped up under a pin and sleeve search, it is not a pin and sleeve but it got me by to extend the wires I had temporarily.

Someone (cough) ran over a cord with the lawnmower. This provided a safe waterproof and easy repair.

...except that after I inserted a 16 ga. wire into its hole and was about to tighten its retaining screw, the screw plunged forward into its hole, stripping some of the threads. I don't think I applied so much pressure during tightening that it was my fault that happened, but I can't be sure.My only complaint is that the accompanying screwdriver tip didn't mate perfectly with the screws' head so I don't think torqued the screws down as tight as I would have liked, but time will tell.Overall, I like the product--it made it very easy to join two cables (of different thickness) so I appreciated that the connectors came with two sets of different hole diameter collars since I needed one of each size to join the cables.

Used to replace a section of trailer wire. Worked great, will see how long it lasts.

I was not able to use with 12awg wire these connectors are for 14awg and smaller. They are or for round insulated cable, but will not seal if used with flat or irregular size wire.

Quick delivery and the product was what I needed. I haven't had any issues to this point with water resistance... all in all the product that I needed quickly.
