"Trust Me"
This is really great underrated 5 star comedy vehicle from Kurt Russell, who at the time was making the transition away from being a Disney Star. It is also Robert Zemeckis first and I believe only R Rated Comedy movie. At the time it came out in 1980, it was poorly marketed by the studio and failed at the box office opening opposite the more successful Airplane. It did however gain a cult following on the home video market ever since. It is even listed in the American Film Institute's 2000 list of the 500 movies nominated for the Top 100 funniest American movies. With classic lines like "We blow the **** out of high prices." "Trust Me." The late Jack Warden is also great as the two rival Car Salesman Luke & Roy L Fuchs (who is trying to buy out his brother). This movie also provides a small role for Michael Talbot 5 years before appearing in Miami Vice. I have owned this movie on different formats over the years the 2002 R2 DVD release, this digital release on Amazon Prime from a few years ago and I have now purchased the new Shout Factory Bluray release from last which in addition to the existing special features has a new 2 part extensive interview with Bob Gale. Hugely reawatchable and Highly recommended whatever format you watch it on.

Great cast - Great fun!
Overshadowed by Airplane on first release and wasn't even shown in UK cinemas. Thankfully we can catch up with Used Cars on the small screen. The second movie directed by Robert Zemeckis, who would go on to huge success with Back to the Future, Roger Rabbit & Forrest Gump (just to name a few) but despite those, this remains my favourite. Also my second favourite Kurt Russell movie after The Thing (Another classic!). Used Cars has a great cast and is a fun film which stands up to many repeat viewings. The only really worthwhile extra on the region 2 dvd is a commentary featuring Zemeckis, Russell & Bob Gale (co-writer/producer). It's well worth a listen and Kurt gets particularly giddy!
