High quality
I've been using these pans for about 3 months. The stainless steel is naturally non-stick. Although not to the same degree as Teflon, food washes off with minor elbow grease and a little warm soap. Which is okay with me since I'm trying to remove carcinogens from the kitchen. I've had to adjust my cooking due to the fact that the copper core heats up quickly and retains heat well. These pans are so good, I've realized just how crappy the stove is. Handles stay cool, and the classic design is a definite plus. I was also looking specifically for a set with a saucier (deep skillet), which is difficult to come by. Try a roux in this and you'll never go back to a saucepan. My killer mac and cheese sauce cooks up in 20 minutes now, versus the former hour! And the two-handle design and stove-friendly construction means this set is highly flexible. Can't recommend these any higher, looking forward to having these for years to come.

Better Choices Out There, Recommendation Below...
UPDATE... 11/4/2012... The handles on the lids are now getting hot and the non-stick skillets are now sticking... after 3 weeks of leaving messages and emails their warranty department said there is nothing they can do... what kind of warranty is this? I will not be buying this brand again. --- Got this inexpensive set from Amazon (Heuck Zeroca Select Carbon Neutral Cookware Set, 8-Piece) and LOVE THEM... super light weight, wash well and very stylish, too. We love the "Premium" set but we were not pleased with the "Professional" set because the handles on the "professional" set get super hot when cooking which is not practical at all. We purchased the "Premium" because of the safe manufacturing but we also love them for their beauty, affordability and easy clean-up. I thought the description was very clear that these were NOT the nonstick --- we have their Montane Nonstick and nothing is better, super impressive. I recommend these highly.

Not for Induction Cooktops
Beautiful pans but not for induction cooktops. Although the base is magnetic stainless steel, there is a 3 inch diameter copper disk on the bottom of each pan that prevents induction from working. Unfortunately, this is not obvious from the description, so these will be going back.

Another Disappointment
This cookware was stated to be great for glass top stoves and " would never warp " ...unfortunately mine came slightly warped right out of the box. I called customer service and they were polite, and when asked if they were supposed to be perfectly flat he said yes and to return them if they werent. I opted for a refund and not a replacement. The sides of the stock pot are very thin as well as the other pans walls. They did boil water fairly quickly. Also, one reason I chose this set is because BergHoff is a Belgium company and I was under the impression that these were made in Belgium. When asked, the customer service representative could only say that they had plants all over the world and had no way of knowing where they were made. I'm trying not to buy stuff made in China and he said that it was possible they could have been made there. There was no indication where they were made either on the pans themselves or the box. The bottom of the pan did say BergHoff Belgium, but not made in Belgium. They were not packaged very well and I could hear pans rattling, although none were damaged. Being this is the first review of this set I feel bad giving such a negative impression, but its my honest assessment of this product and I feel that one of the strengths of amazon is the reviews, I find them to be very helpful.

Killer Set For All Levels of Cooks
Berghoff - Doing a good job out there! I just purchased this set, and while I usually stray from a set of cookware, I decided to go for it. This was my first stainless steel set purchased and I'm fully satisfied. The cookware heats perfectly and evenly. Don't worry about the bad talk about non-stick this or that... People just need to learn how to cook and what to use when cooking certain types of foods. I mean cmon... there's a reason why we have non-stick pans and stainless steel pans etc. I got this set Used as well... Awesome find considering the price I paid... I would still pay the full price. Thanks for an awesome product and price point.

Not for induction cook tops.
Worst pans I have ever cooked with!! I have an induction cook top, which I know stainless steel is perfect for. However these pans are so high maintenance and cook unevenly. They also burn everything no matter what heat I use. If you have an induction cook top I strongly recommend against these.

Good variety of sizes and shapes of cookware
So I have decided to move up from all of the cookware I have been using since I got married 19+ years ago. Back then the thing was All Clad, Chantal, and whatever we could get our hands on in the wedding registry. I did get the classic Farberware, which was the biggest set I had, and it has made it thus far and could keep going, but I decided to change things up a bit. I do like the variety of sizes offered in this set. It took me a while to figure out what I would actually be getting with this set, the way the sizes are described in the product listing was completely baffling to me. So I will try to explain to you the way I see it. With this set of 10 pieces which is actually 6 bottoms and 4 lids. That is usually a mystery to me until I open the box and sort it all out. And cookware descriptions are nebulous and interchangeable to a certain degree, I hope I can explain what I found out here. Saucepans: You get three saucepans, which may also be called "saute" pans, according to cookware people. By size, the smallest is 1 1/2 qts, which has a 6" diameter base and is 3" high. The medium size saucepan is 3 qt., with a 7 1/2" diameter base and is 4" high. The last is a 3 qt. saute pan, which I can only figure out has the saute designation is because it is not as high as a sauce pan, is 3 qt., 9" diameter base, and is only 2 1/4" high. Frying pans: One 8" pan with a 5 7/8" diameter, and one 10" pan with a 7 1/4" diameter. Stock pot: One 8 qt. with a 9" diameter base. Every bottom (pan, saute, saucepan, stockpot) has a lid that fits it, but two of the bottoms share with another, which is not a problem. The only thing I really wish the manufacturer would do is put the size of the bottom on the it. Even my very average Farberware has the size on it. This is the reason there is 4 stars instead of 5 on my review. It is maddening to try to figure this information out before you are used to cooking with something. The lids can fit over the handles so you can hang them all up on a pot rack if you have one. As far as cooking with it, it works great. To have shiny new pans is very exciting, so I've been cooking more than usual. Hey everybody needs inspiration once in a while! I have a glass topped, electric cooktop which I just put up with. When I remodeled my kitchen it was going to cost a fortune to run a gas line, so I didn't do it. Now here's some advice, electric cooktops have a lot more problems than gas cooktops. The cost of the gas line is probably the same as what I've spent in service calls and parts since I put it in. And as everybody knows, gas is better to cook with. As far as induction, I don't have that and couldn't say if it is better or not. This set is supposed to be good for induction cooktops also. The diameter measurements might be handy to you because of your burner sizes on your cooktop. I see that these diameters are different than what I have been using, so I had to adjust to that when I was cooking. The set was packaged very nicely with plenty of protection, and all of the bottoms sit flat on my cooktop. All in all a very decent set and very usable size cookware.
