l loved the book and what is written inside.
I just recieved my book and have skimmed few of its pages. It displays a picture of all the material that described it and tells you exactly what you need to do that project or work for your kid. I have a son who is 19 months and a daughter who is 5 years and I am planning to do those projects on both of them. I had a similar book that explains these kinds of projects but I like this one because it has short description of what to do in that project along with a picture of the material to use. Also they have the FAQ's pages that can help parents for solutions of some problem they face at home with kids, for example: I have a toddler and a preschooler. How can I keep the younger child from disrupting the older child's work? so this FAQ has a six points of solution. I have taken a snap shot of the book contents and I will see where I can attach the images. The pages are all black and white no colors for the material but that is fine as long as the info. of the book is displayed very nice.I just recommend buyers to laminate the outer paper back because it is not going to be as new as it is and also to keep the paper back not turn out.Noora

i dont think can be better (at least for me)
speechless, i dont think can be better (at least for me), i have only read it briefly, they divided by chapter like for example how to teach good manners, activities of daily living , sensory etc it seems based on montessory technique, they also give ages like for example from what age to what age the pink tower or any other educational toy. I also remember I read advices about how to teach to read, they also advised about what not to get ( i am planning home schooling so i have been buying some montessory toys and for example prior bood i bought recommended to buy the rods for math...such a mistake i got stuck with 45 dollars , this book out of the bat says very well "rods are to big for home") so overall if planning home schooling this is valuable if looking for activities for educational entertainment for your kid this still i feel will give you activity, but again this is all educational for the kids.

Love This Book ! ! !
Our daughter turns 4 yrs old next month, started window shopping for kindergartens for following year, found that I really liked the idea of Montessori to help build daughters foundation. So pleased I ordered this book, it's so helpful with tips and tricks, tons of reference, even app recommendations for apple or android. Really like how book is organized, each chapter is topic (I.e. life skills, reading / writing, science, math, etc). Also appreciate the intro chapter as an intro to Montessori, how the brain works, why certain activities are recommended as building blocks for other skills. Our daughter is getting a more traditional preschool experience, but I'm thrilled I'm able to do Montessori activities at home to strengthen fundamentals.... This is my go-to book for any family with a child turning 2 years old.

Just what you need for at home montessori education
I LOVE this book! It was exactly what I needed to help me sort out all of the different Montessori materials and how to use them. I felt like I was in over my head when trying to decide what to buy. This book is definitely aimed at parents who are educating using the Montessori method. It lets you know what is worth getting and what you can easily make at home. I found that so invaluable. I found myself highlighting many pages for inspiration and then went on to order John's other books (which I am very excited to read). I think people may pass this up because it's not as flashy as the other Montessori books out there but trust me, it's a treasure.

Great book, get it & start working on it with your toddler!
I really enjoyed this book. It is a wonderful and inspirational book that brings Montessori principles and activities into the home environment where your children gain life skills in a systematic and methodical manner. As a pure novice to Montessori teaching and a SAHM of two kids under the age of two it is an easy read and most activities can be done with what is on hand and there are suggestions on what and where to buy Montessori items. The author is passionate about his work and it shows. I initially complained about a few dead links in the kindle edition but the author proactively updated the links in his book. Get the book and start working through it with your toddler. This book puts expensive Montessori preschool education within every parents' grasp.

Trying to do Montessori at home? Then get this book!
I LOVE this book. It is full of low-cost Montessori activities you can do at home with kids aged 2-6. The activities are not complex, not expensive, and most of them use materials you'd have around the house or can easily get at the craft store. I love the way the author explains in simple terms how to do the activities and the objective. I also like the reminders that you 'let the material do the teaching.' That really is the whole point of Montessori, just let the child play with the activity and learn from it while you're there to support. I researched SO many books when I decided to do some Montessori at home, and it is great to find a book that is simple, to the point, and so helpful. Highly recommend if you are wanting to do Montessori at home with children starting around age 2.

This book is not Montessori
This book includes practical suggestions for teaching preschoolers at home, but it does not describe a Montessori education. The author claims that she started three Montessori schools, but if this book is an indication of the techniques used, then these schools were Montessori in name only. Authentic Montessori education is accomplished through the use of authentic Montessori educational materials. These materials are produced according to original blueprints devised by Dr. Montessori, are carefully crafted from quality woods and rigorously safety tested. They tend to be expensive. Parents or schools that use substitute versions or make their own materials may be providing a Montessori INSPIRED education, but cannot claim to be authentic without being misleading. This particular author touts iPads and other technology as appropriate for children as young as 4, when research clearly proves that early technology is harmful to young children. Her section on early reading is especially weak. Her lapproach over-all could be described as eclectic, with a few Montessori techniques thrown into a confused bag of educational mish mash.

Must have for parents
I chose this rating because I had bought this book to help my grandchild who is about two and is exploring the world around him. My aim in buying this book was to choose well how I help him adapt to the world around him and the material in the book is well explained (actually, far more than my own primary school!!!!) and the experiments sound such fun and although the author advises Montessori materials to purchase, in any household, most of those materials would be there anyway. The concepts of science/mathematics, sensory exploration, reading and social skills to name just a few are prepared to help the child learn naturally in a relaxed manner. After all, learning goes on forever.I wonder how on earth I learned the concept of mathematics myself, when I see how simply it is explained in the book. The book has 167 pages - pleasing to read - and easy to refer to.Well worth the money.N.B. It often uses American coinage and expressions, but smart people can adapt that easily.

Print not coloured
Disappointed by printing quality. There are so many ideas but you can not see the pictures clearly as it is printed black and white.

Every family should own a copy!
This is a fantastic, affordable resource that is suitable for every family. It's packed full of relevant information and practical ideas that are easily applied to families with young children. The direct links (to blogs, videos, photos, materials) contained throughout the eBook make it easy to view real life examples of how to apply and execute Montessori-based activities and philosophy in your every day life with very little expense. Every family should own a copy!

I really like this book
I really like this book, lots of information and great ideas. I marked it down 1 star because it states that it has free printables but the link no longer works (unfortunately it probably did when I first bought it but I didn't try to download until now) it appears the author has taken down his website at the end of 2016).
