The Best Dictionary For Its Price!
Wow! This dictionary/thesaurus/encyclopedia/spellchecker/crossword puzzle solver is amazing! It has a dictionary, thesaurus, encyclopedia, spellchecker, solvers for many items, 10 great word games, a calculator, and an "Easy Learn" list where you can make your own list of words from the dictionary. This would come in handy when you don't want to carry around a huge dictionary, thesaurus, and encyclopedia. This can also help kids practice their spelling words (if their words are 4-12 letters long). Just search up all the words, add them to your "Easy Learn" list, and set the settings so that when you play a word game, you always get a word from your list (e.g. you play hangman and you get a word from your list). I bought this for my 10 year old son to use, and it's very handy. The Easy Learn list of words goes up to 500 words. The design is a bit odd though, and it doesn't fit into pockets as easily as other e-dictionaries. My son has to take about 20 seconds to put it into his pocket. Thanks!

All in all I am satisfied with this dictionary
All in all I am satisfied with this dictionary. This was a replacement for a SHARP PW-E550 dictionary which I had lost and am unable to find another. At first I was disappointed, the screen displays only two lines of text in "input" mode (the line your are typing and the first partial match), the SHARP has six lines which allows for a faster search choice. It also is missing (or I have not found) a "history" function, which displays words previously searched for (at least 21 words on the SHARP, maybe all of the words since the last reset.) This is a handy function for someone like me who needs a frequent refresh before finally absorbing a concept, certainly more handy than the Seiko function of a clothing size chart, what's that about? The dictionary, thesaurus, and encyclopedia are very good (Oxford English), I should add that there are four lines of text on the display when reading the actual definition, (eight on the SHARP, sorry, I'm still mad I lost it).

Recomended
Durable, easy to use, good definitions that actually give understanding. I wish it had more derivations though. Batterie lasts very long. Mine ran out after 6 months. I use it aboout 20 times a week.

DO NOT DROP!
It worked great for my needs. Simple definitions with derivations. No battery problems or anything. But then I dropped it from waist height and the screen cracked. Totally useless. Not even two months of use and I am out $70.

Words are Never a Mystery
This device is terrific. Reading is my favorite pastime. I have two of these devices. One is at my reading chair upstairs and one is at the reading chair on the ground floor. I use the dictionary function every single day. It also had an extensive encyclopedia. The keys are very easy to press down. It is easy to scroll through the data that is presented. It is compact, light and enhances every book and journal that I read.

Three Stars
Handy and easy to use...not as many definitions, etc, as my previous electronic dictionary.

Quality Product
LIke the different options you can use relative to researching a word: dictionary spelling, thesaurus, encyclopedia, etc. Also, it's much more reasonably priced then a Franklin.

Works sometimes
It has small tolerance for error you're trying to solve and offers idiotic things that have no relavance to your problem. Has no way to clear the choice easily.Am 85 yr old Vet and didn't try much until recently. SAD I can't send it back and can't afford one hat works. Nothing works right and for spelling I use the Webster Word book from years ago that has 33,000 words, but no definition just look it up. but it is faster than this thing that can't find the word you need..
