Thinkware F70 Dash Cam.
Purchased for brother in law in France. Seems to be pleased with it. It is not visible like the dash cams that have an integrated screen.

SD card only 8GB
Camera works fine and picture quality is acceptable. Contents of package were intact and in good state. However, contrary to the advertised 16GB, the included SD card was only 8GB.

Complicated wiring. Not suitable for convertibles.
I have Thinkware dashcams in other cars and they are an excellent product however I ordered this one for a soft-top convertible and it was not suitable. There is a socket and plug about 8mm in diameter about 300mm from the mounting plate and another junction with wires and jack plug & socket about 400mm along the lead. It might be possible to hide these in the windscreen surround or headlining of a conventional car but it was not suitable for the vehicle I had in mind. Amazon arranged a very quick collection and refund.

Great cam
Nice little dashcam comes with hardwiring cable just need your fuse pigtails to crimp on the wiring and fit into fuse board, would recommend one with WiFi for easy access to your footage if required at the scene of an accident

Never worked out of the box
First when you order the hardwire kit it doesn't come with the fuse spurs to actually hardwire so figure on another 20 quid to be able to use it, secondly while it would turn on could never get it to work continuously advises 'format the card' card formatted card as advised on their website download latest firmware and still get a format the card error, maybe i got a bad one but it seems like absolute garbage to me

Fantastic
My daughter recently passed her driving test and she wanted a dash cam fitted. We researched on youtube and this dashcam was reviewed to as number 1 of all the budget dash cams. I was so impressed with it, I bought one for my car too. Would well recommend if you don't want to pay out a fortune for a dashcam

Good value proposition
We moved away from similarly priced non-branded units to the F70 for our fleet, where cost, reliability and ruggedness were important factors and the non-branded units, whilst they had screens and more features, were prone to not recording and overheating (one even caught fire). The F70 is configured via a desktop program and the memory card, with settings like the date and time, parking sensor and gyro sensitivity controlled from the application and flashed to the camera upon replacing the sdhc card. Thinkware state that you can only use their branded memory cards, but I upgraded ours to 128gb Toshiba sdhc cards without any problem - just check the re-write speeds are fast enough and remember the card will have to be good enough to survive being in the windscreen of a hot car or truck.Image quality is 1080p. The lens is excellent in bright and low light conditions. No ability to dial down the resolution to store more footage, but there is the options to turn parking recording and hardcoded gyro activated recording on or off (I chose off since our fleet units are only checked occasionally). We hardwired ours, but the plug in 12/24v cable works as you would expect too. Nothing difficult to install in either case with the right tools and knowledge. The only downside to the F70 is its adhesion, using a permanent 3m adhesive foam instead of a suction cup to permit swapping into different vehicles, and possibly the annoying audio feedback when you go over a bump and trigger the gyro or take the card out - the sounds are generally just an annoying distraction and whilst you can turn them off, they are unfortunately also quite important in the absence of a viewing screen.Overall, the F70 is a good value budget proposition for fleet or home use alike.

Seems like a nice camera
The rating I gave for this is based purely on appearances because not only did I not fit it, I didn't even open the box. My reason was simply because of the power supply being a pin instead of a USB micro, which I had already installed in my vehicle and I didn't want to go through what I had to go the last time.
