HOPPE'SNo. 9 Lubricating Oil

Used it to lubricate a few multitools and pocket knives I have. Really loosened everything up. Like new again.

I have only ever used Hopp's #9. Great product, great value. I had the squeeze bottles that came with the basic cleaning kits before. I wanted something with more accuracy. This bottle was great and did everything I needed. Allowed me to get into the trigger area on my AR easily. Offers good protection. Great buy!

Makes applying oil in small doses in tight areas easy.

This is my go to lubricating oil, but for some reason, I think they changed the ingredients for the recipe because it’s a bit more yellow than clear like I remember, but seems to work great either way.

I bought this a year or two ago and at the time many reviewers were raving about how amazing the bottle/applicator was. Now I totally get it. The precision of the fine metal tube application is unparalleled, never clogs, and allows for very minute amounts of oil to be applied. I’ve used it on pocket knives, door hinges and garden pruners (not a gun owner) to great success. I bought a refill for it but am still on the original amount, will last for years at my current usage rates.All that to say, this is a great product in an amazing package. Buy it and see for yourself.

Love the thinness of the needle. Lets you get in small spots.

This is a good, well respected oil for lubricating firearms but can also be used as a general purpose oil (similar to what you might use 3-in-one oil for).The downside of this particular product is you get 1/2 ounce (15ml) for more money than if you bought their "standard" 2 1/4 ounce (67ml) orange bottle.But I wanted the needle oiler, which is much nicer to use than the larger bottle's spout for most applications. So I bit the bullet. Take the hit once then refill it with the cheaper bottle.This was on sale for a couple days in Oct 2024 for about $5. It's normally $7-$8.I posted some photos (like others) that show that the bottle I got has yellow-ish oil compared to the clear fluid in the larger bottle. I don't know if this means anything significant as far as performance goes - I doubt it. Maybe it's just come coloring so you can see the level in the translucent bottle easier than if the fluid were clear?Apr 2025 - small update: I use this thing all the time! Firearms, hinges, knives. You name it. I just fixed a 3 hole punch my wife got from the thrift store with a few drops here and there. The needle oiler is great for getting just a small drop exactly where you need it. I'm very happy I decided to "splurge" on this. I'm kinda pissed at myself for not getting a needle oiler (of some sort) years ago.
