I've just discovered Mola art and this book is exceptionally good at giving a history and contemporary view of the art. I really enjoyed it and feel I have gained an insight into Mola art. Check it out!

I collect Molas , have a lot, and some books but this is the best one

Outstanding pictures of the Molas & the Kuna people's culture, with reference to the fabrication techniques of the molas.With a historical overview and a comment of the history, economy, culture & religion of the Kuna people. We strongly recommend this book, if you are interested in the Kuna art & culture. We were in the San Blas Islands and experienced it ourselves! The book gives an profound insight in the Kuna culture & the mola designs.

I have collected molas for 40 years. This books covers the history of molas as well as the evolution of mola design. Before reading this book, I thought the only molas worth collecting are those created 40 years. Now I understand that today's molas may be different but they are still incredibly creative.

This is the very best reference book about Molas that I have ever read. The photography, the Molas themselves are absolutely beautiful, unique, and so artistic. This book offers a historical document for all those who admire Molas. I will order another book for my daughter.

Eye Candy. So many beautiful plates. Excellent color reproductions. Inspiring!The information about how the molas are made and about the Kuna people is fascinating and will increase your appreciation of this unique art form.

Natürlich ist dieses neue Buch vom Herbst 2011 ein MUSS für jeden Molasammler. Nicht, weil es 2 meiner Molas farbig abbildet (sowie weitere "matchings" aus meiner Sammlung), sondern weil es SEHR viele Fotos zeigt. Die besten darin - und leider in der Minderzahl - sind die meines Freundes Tom Hannaher. Sonst sind die Motive eher durchschnittlich. Ich ziehe immer noch Michel Perrins "Magnificent Molas" vor.

全251ページ、モラの写真は246ページまででフルカラーの分厚い本です。文章は英語で書かれていますがカラーのモラがほとんど全ページに載っているので，見るだけでもとても楽しい本です。最初は「クナ族とクナ文化・風習、モラについての紹介」から始まります。最後の210ページから215ページまではモラ作品の額装の仕方が図解で説明されています。216ページから246ページまで何枚かのモラをお手本にモラの作り方が図解説明されています。アンティ−クモラから現代モラまで毎ページモラの写真を見る事ができるので、モラファンにとってはお気に入りの1冊になると思います。

いい参考書に巡り合わせたと喜んでいます。友達にも紹介して好評のようです。
