Nite Ize Locking Carabiner Clip, Silver, 1-3/32 in., Stainless

The sliding "lock" on this part is garbage. Lost my car key.

Bought as a gift. They are light weight, but the locking mechanism is a PITA to deal with when this thing is on your belt loop and you can't see it. It's not that secure anyway, just a pain live with if you remove open and close this carabiner very often and it's attached where you can't see it very well.

I had this on my key-chain to attach my Gorilla flash drive. After 2 close calls of almost losing my flash drive because it became detached on its own, I had to ditch this carabiner and am currently looking for a more secure one. The small black plastic piece that serves as the "slide lock" does not stay secured, and allows the carabiner to open unintentionally, for example, while taking your keys out of your pocket. It is not worn from use, as I never have needed to open the carabiner since originally attaching it. I have had several cheap locking carabiners before that were much more reliable than this one. I like all my other Nite Ize products, but this one is a poorly designed dud.

I love the Nite Ize biners, esp. the slide lock ones. Always carry one backpacking for its versatility. I usually use this to clip my backpack to my hammock suspension in order to keep the pack off the ground. The lock holds very well; never had an issue. Never had any damage to the stainless steel carbiner bod. Works as great as the day I bought it. And super affordable! Lightweight too! Holds my crocs to my pack while walking. Also holds my solar charger to my pack. And my stainless steel cup to my belt loop when desired. Love this for all it can hold for me! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Function: Five Stars . . . Durability: One Star On the first two of these I have owned the spring broke where it bends and pins into the body. I wrote Nite-Ize customer service. They were curt and reluctant, but I eventually got a free replacement. Both my original and that replacement broke in the same spot, about a year into ownership. Why did I order a third? Because this clip is absolutely perfect for clipping my car key and a very small multi-tool to my belt loop. It is trim and subtle, unlike bigger carabiners. I'm always on the scout for something better, but until then I guess I'll get these and think of it more as renting.

this is an ok little biner, but is much smaller than i was,expecting.

Love that I don't have to worry about my keys getting unclipped. Thigh, at times my key ring gets stuck where the lil black locking slide goes, which is difficult to pop back out. So gotta make sure to lock it bk up right after unclipping from my belt loop or once replacing bk to loop.

These are good karabiners, I'm using them for attaching stuff to my BCD when diving. Max load is 75Lbs, which considering I'm not clipping stage cylinders on with them makes them great for other things like reels, goodie bags etc. The slide lock can be fiddly with thick gloves on, but you get used to it after opening them a few times. Either that or leave the slide open! Good on price as they are cheaper than proper rock climbing biners and I don't need the ultra high load rating that rock biners have.

Firstly if ur looking for a carabeaner this isn't explicitly a bad one it holds about 200 pounds before it deforms and becomes unusable so pls don't climb with it also it's got sharp edges. The locking features perhaps the worst I've seen black diamond makes a great climbing grade breaner with a great screw lock and it doesn't break also it's rates at 22kn it's $11 u can also get a black diamond wire gate for similar price to this and again the quality is much mu h higher and u won't have to worry about how much u load it overall don't recommend
