Mistakes in info
Let me start by saying very cute book. But I just want to clarify that there are incorrect portions in the fact section on the last page. The post that states that Muslims begin their fast when they are able to see the difference between a white thread and a black one is incorrect. The verse from the Quran was also misunderstood by the people of that time and was corrected to mean that they could see the let light of the sky where night meets day. The other correction is that we do not fast to feel the suffering of other people. Fasting is not meant to be a burden on anyone. Fasting is a time for reflection and contemplation of our connection to God through the revelation of the Holy Quran. I took a black pen to these mistakes didn't want the kids thinking that they were correct and teaching them the wrong thing.

Beautifully simple for the non-Muslim family!
With all the anti-Muslim hatred in the world, I was looking for a way to introduce Muslim-positive concepts to my toddlers. We're not a religious family. I believe in teaching my children tolerance and curiosity towards all people and faiths. This book was perfect. I love the simple concepts and the repetition. My children enjoy the illustrations of the moon, the swing, the animals... The book does not assume the reader is Muslim or that the reader will be celebrating Ramadan. Some of the illustrations depict women wearing a hijab and some do not. I wanted to introduce my children to different types of religious clothing. This book will be a great springboard for future conversations about religion, respect and difference. This would be a wonderful book for school and childcare libraries as well as storybook collections of families from all different faiths and religious perspectives.

Repeats a lot, but good book
I originally reviewed this product and gave it a poor review. I still think its written in a wierd way where they repeat "Under the Ramadan moon " over and over. However, my daughter does like the pictures and theme of this book so I updated my rating to reflect that.

It should be in your children’s libarary
Illustrations are perfect. I am glad I have the opportunity reading this book to my kids before Ramadan so they would know what Ramadan is.

great for little kids
I bought it for my classroom to keep it a bit more culturally balanced. It's repetitive and cute, great for little kids. Not very informative about Ramadan, but still a good addition to my library.

Good book but poor delivery.
Book is lovely; a perfect gift for my daughter for Ramadan. However the book was folded in half to fit through the door flap which has creased the whole book. There was no message to say do not fold. Very disappointing.
