There are pictures of some beautiful quilts in this book. And this book teaches you how to make your own beautiful quilts. There is a chapter on how to create colorwash effects, how to read and apply color, value and visual texture. How to create harmony and contrast and so much more. Then it goes on to show you how to cut your fabric and construct your quilt, and how to add borders. This book will take you through the process from beginning to end, with lots of tips and techniques to make things easier.I cannot wait to get started on my quilt. I have been collecting fabric for a few months now, and I think I am almost ready to dive in. The plan is to make a quilt for all of my daughters, and grandchildren, and these Bargello quilts really speak to me. Great book!

I thought the patterns were rather repetitive and the sizes of the projects were hard to work with. That is to say, most of them would not fit a bed very well and many would be too large for a wall hanging. That being said, the section on design and color choices was informative and thought provoking. The author's techniques for constructing and sewing were new to me and I may try her process on a small project to see how it works.

Excellent book! The Bargello quilts look so difficult but if you follow the Beth An's steps, the quilt will come together nicely. I recommend this book to any quilter who is thinking about trying this process.

I was somewhat disappointed, it had cool pics of quilts, but not the pattern..the book does have some good tips to do a bargello quilt..but not a lot of patterns..no fault of the seller

Very difficult. but very interesting.

I found this book great myself so have purchased a second copy for a patchwork friend. (A friend who does patchwork not a friend made from patchwork). Bargello looks so difficult, even for me a mathematician. The author does a great job of going through the entire process - choosing colours, step by step instructions - first in a general section and then by giving details for several projects in a variety of sizes and using slightly different colour effects. It has made me fall in love with bargello - great finished items and actually quite simple and quick because piecing together is all long lines of straight sewing. Highly recommended.

Lovely book, when I first opened it I thought the patterns were very complicated but taking my time and following the diagrams I have realised that it is a very well written and the diagrams are excellent,a book well worth having.
