There's some really great puzzles in this book but some take sizeable leaps in logic or have so many possible answers that the given "correct" solution is moot. All-in-all enjoying the book so far.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I post a riddle of the week in my classroom for the kids to guess. Just the right level of difficulty for my 5th graders

My daughter discovered the joy of logic grid puzzles at school and I was looking to get her a book that she could take to school//camp/places without internet. This title held promise and I assumed it would be a combination of logic grid puzzles and brainteasers. Instead, this book is mostly syllogisms. She was very disappointed and while I skimmed the book to see if perhaps there were logic puzzles that just did not provide a grid, and only saw one, which was a variant of the "Zebra Puzzle" but with some of the details changed (including the brands of cigarettes/cigars that are being smoked but not that they are cigarettes/cigars, which seemed odd in a book for kids, even one originally published in 1988). Given the author's other books are also riddles, I suppose this shouldn't be surprising.

I enjoyed trying to solve the puzzles. Some are complicated. Many are manageable. I tried all the puzzles. But succeeded in not many. But all kept me engrossed.

I, an adult, bought this book for "smart kids" because I find that books for "smart adults" are often too difficult for me, an ordinary not Mensa-level smart individual. I am thoroughly enjoying the brainteasers and puzzles and I especially like the explanation rather than just being given the answer. This is definitely my capacity level and interest level.

A book that will keep the whole family on their toes. A good range of puzzles.
