This is probably an ok product of you are just looking for a Shea butter, but it really hasn't helped with my skin problems. I suffer from an unidentifiable skin allergy and I was hoping this would be the one product that would relieve the burning and itching instead of increasing it. Didn't work, unfortunately, and in fact it irritates a little. The other point I want to make is that this may not be USDA certified organic. It's certified in Ghana, perhaps, and has an organic looking label, but it doesn't carry the USDA ORGANIC label , which I have come to recognize, as I have purchased a lot of organic foods and products in the past few years. It does say EcoCert, however, which may be just as good. I haven't researched it yet to know.

Great for dry skin. I have to wash and sanitize my hands often, which really dries out and cracks the skin on my hands - - I love using this on my hands each night. It's very thick and greasy, but is typically absorbed by morning, and seems to help my skin heal faster. I also use lightly on body after shower . If you warm this butter in microwave just a bit, it will spread on your skin better. If you don't want to take the time to warm it though, if you rub a dab of it in between your palms very quickly, the heat from the friction will warm it too, and will make it easier to spread on skin! I did not find that it had an odd smell, like some reviewers reported. I normally use a natural soap that contains shea butter as an ingredient and I think this Sogo Shea Butter smells similar to my soap - it's a very light, benign odor and I barely notice it (that's just my opinion). Also, this jar goes a LONG WAY. I divided this jar up into several of those small jelly jars, so that each family member can have their own jar and not have everyone dip their fingers into one jar.

The grittiness melts with body heat so that takes a little getting used to but it's definitely moisturizing. I tend to like coconut oil better

A bit gritty at first, but the warmth of my hands smoothed it out. So far it seems to work fine.

I was so excited when my shea butter arrived. I love it. It's great on my hands (and even keeps them moisturised through a couple hand washes)! I also love it for my sons sensitive skin. It's so hard to find a good nightly cream that keeps his skin smooth and moisturised that isn't full of chemicals. I was usually coconut oil but found it wasn't helping with his dry skin so after a MOMMY group recommended this I jumped right on it! So happy with my purchase. Will definitely purchase from Sogo again!

I am giving this review 2 stars because of the fast delivery. As to for the product itself, it smells rancid and it does not absorb well on my daughter's skin or my skin. I am not a newbie to shea butter. I used to buy shea butter from the Ojoba Collective before they stopped making the 4 oz. tins. I did my research and decided to go with this company due to the reviews, but I am disappointed with what I received in the mail. Maybe iI just got a bad tub?

This Shea Butter is of the highest quality and is even suitable for delicate baby skin. I purchased for my 8 month old son to treat his eczema. This is a great moisturizer, and while it has not been able to treat the flare ups, it seems to help keep them at bay much better than any other natural topical product we have tried. I had to purchase a second container due to my husband's use. I will continue to buy this product again and again!
