Have played this 3-player several times. The path to victory seems to be skewed to moving the harbormaster into first place, and that skews the score so much (full higher points, while everyone else gets half of their lesser points)! Then followed by leader in Orleans, though not quite as bad. Note in final round, the tie breaker for either of those is having a lower phase tile!My group is still debating this issue, which affects the desire to play when there can be only one path that is determined pretty early in game.

Bought this one on a whim and have enjoyed playing it now several times! It's pretty quick to learn, and has that action mechanic like Puerto Rico where you choose which action you will active on your turn, getting you a bonus, and others cannot choose that same action on their turn. We really like this one alot!

I'm a fan of games that feel meaty and substantial without bogging down in rules minutiae. Riverboat is absolutely a poster child for relatively easy, streamlined rules (as far as midweight Euro games go) that still pack TONS of fantastic decisions and can even burn the brain from time to time. The theme may not be super strong, but I still appreciate the riverboat theme and I think it works with the farming aspects as well. It's a game with several things going on at once and they all work. Don't miss this hidden gem.

This is a great game and at an affordable price.

Two things I love in games is tile laying and set collection. This game has both of these things and has an interesting first player selection for each phase of the game. Very underrated game!

This is easily the best board game ever designed and definitely the best board game nobody talks about. I can teach this game to non-gamers very easily, but it's also crunchy enough for heavy gamers to enjoy. I also love the gorgeous artwork and unique theme. I love this game far more than I do Catan or Ticket to Ride. It's slightly heavier than a gateway game, but not by much. It's the perfect middle ground for gamers looking for something slightly more complex without being confusing. Love love love love LOVE this game!
