Many uses for this product this is what I use it for
Awasom I fill large opening with ice and water . Take time to learn to close, can be tough and leak so do over a sink. Take your time and after a few times it is easier to close. Combine this bladder with a aftermarket insulator pocket from Amazon. Works great keeps water cold and perfect for long motorcycle rides.

Neoprene bladder bag
Appears well made and keeps water cold and off my back. Also muffles the sloshing sound.

Valve hole cutout on wrong side
The valve hose cutout is on the wrong side! See attached picture. The Crux bladder has the hose attachment on the left while the insulator had it on the right.

Great Fit, 2x the Cold Time.
I use this for a water bladder which goes in the seatback bag of a recumbent bicycle. Previously when I filled up the bladder with ice cubes and water, it would stay cold for about 2 hours without the insulator as I'd drink it down. With the insulator, the "cold time" has doubled at a minimum. Also, when the bladder is in the insulator, it makes the whole thing more rigid and easier to clean and to fill. The thickness of the insulator helps protect against other things in the bag potentially puncturing the bladder, too. It has been a very good product for my purposes.

Works well for CamelBak H.A.W.G. LR 100oz lumbar reservoir
For starters I am a professional hiker. I take people's dogs off leash pack hiking in on the mountain and canyon trails around Salt Lake City every morning. We usually do 3-5 miles, and we hike ALL YEAR ROUND, snow, rain or blazing desert sun! In addition to my daily hikes for work, I hike a lot for fun as well and have conquered such trails as the Inca trail in Peru, Half Dome in Yosemite and Mount Timpanogos right here in Utah among many many others. All of this is to say that I know a thing or two about hiking gear and have really put it to the test over the years! The Camelbak H.A.W.G. LR 100oz is my favorite hydration pack that is my daily driver. The problem with hiking year-round in Utah is that in the winters my water can easily freeze and in the summer it can get quite warm quite quickly! I bought this insulator to help me solve both problems, and it works! As you can see from the pictures, it isn't a perfect fit even though it was allegedly designed to fit this exact reservoir. The issue is the top corners of the insulator are somewhat rounded off while the bladder is more square at the top. This, however, isn't a deal breaker or that big of a problem, because I almost NEVER fill my bladder to COMPLETELY full, and even if you did, when you install it in the backpack, water wouldn't occupy the top corners anyway. That being said, I felt it only right to deduct a star just because the fit isn't perfect.Beyond that, I have no complaints! The tube connection hole is right where it's supposed to be, it's easy to install on the bladder and it stays on well. Most importantly, it does the job of keeping cold water cold without allowing it to freeze. So far I have only used it in the summer months, but I have noticed a distinct difference in my water temperature by the end of a 5 miler vs before I put the insulator on. While I haven't used it in the winter yet, I have thrown it in the freezer for 30 minutes in the morning before leaving on my hike to chill the water a little more and it has kept it from freezing at all in that time. Before the insulator, if I put my bladder in the freezer for 30 minutes, I would have to thaw the connector to install my hose because the water under/inside it would have frozen. Now when I pop it in the freezer it adds just enough extra chill to my water and it lasts a lot longer! If you have a Camelbak LR (which I think refers to Lumbar Reservoir) style backpack, I can recommend this insulator!I sincerely hope this review has been helpful for someone else! And yes, I paid FULL PRICE for it. Feel free to ask any questions!
