The Evolution of a Girl

Really love Bowman's writing style, she actively avoids the clichés so present in today's poetry (especially poetry that emphasizes feminist themes, love and/or relationships). Her tie into nature is very refreshing to read and it makes the book distinctly...her own. Which is the ultimate goal as any writer will tell you. Maybe I'll get a lot of hate for this, but I can very rarely stomach Rupi Kaur's work, the clichés are non-stop and her writing style is one that I don't jive with. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely appreciate her and respect her as an artist and poet, yet her content I often find lacking in value. In genuine depth. Bowman's style, while similar, has this value and get's one star more from me than what I gave Rupi!Really great read!

I first discovered L.E. Bowman on instagram, and quickly those words filled my 'saved' tab. I ordered The Evolution of a Girl in paperback, because I love turning down pages in a book that resonate with me. Well, I realized with this book, I couldn't do that. I wanted to mark nearly every page on my first read-through.Every bit of this book feels like it was written for me. I truly feel seen and understood by this writer. I'd buy anything she wrote. Even better, she is incredibly kind, humble, and responsive to fans. This is an under appreciated artist and I beg you, please read her work. I'm even beginning to make hand embroidery stitching and hand lettering and calligraphy with my favorite quotes of hers!**Bought a second copy because I lent my dog-eared copy to a friend... and I can't remember which! Free copy for them to share!!!

For a long time now, I've been searching for a book of poetry that is a mirror of my own soul. I finally found it in "The Evolution of a Girl." L.E. Bowman's words have given light to the feelings I have had a difficult time expressing as I've gotten older. I used to write poetry as a carefree teenager, but have withdrawn within myself as I've aged and have struggled with the loss of my artistic expression. Since reading this book, I have started to write a few things and hope to continue to be able to do so. I would like to say thank you to L.E. Bowman for releasing her magic unto the world in the form of this beautiful book about the female voyage of self-doubt, realization, and growth. Truly an inspiring read!

I don't have the right words like Bowman does, but that's just it. She says so perfectly what I feel and think. Or when I can't grasp at what something in my memories means to me, I've found that meaning in her book. I haven't finished it yet, but have nearly tagged the entire book with my favorites! I send pictures of her poems to my sisters to inspire. I bought another copy for my friend and we have discussed her poems so many times! This book is moving and beautiful and you truly need to read it!

The past year I began reading a lot of poetry, and a lot of the books I have read were super short. This book is about 272 pages and I enjoyed most of it. Id definitely recommend.

L.E. Bowman has a way of connecting to soft yet strong femininity all at once. When I read this, it’s as if she was speaking to my soul.

The Evolution of A Girl will have you bent, broken, rooting for the flower in all of us to water one another and rise above toxic masculinity, sexual assault, and the difference between love and lust.These poems empower you and help you see that being born a girl in a man's world isn't heartbreaking but a chance for you to grow, heal, and thrive.

I loved this book, but please don’t get for self love in general. I think it’s steered more towards finding self love after a relationship that damaged it even more.

Arrived early but was damaged, spine was ripped and pages damaged and dent.This was meant to be a birthday present but i canmot give someone a broken gift.

This book has changed my life, it arrived today and I have not moved from my position, engrossed in, moved by, learning from, crying with, sending on, the epiphany of my freedom.Thank you L.E.Bowman, I have recommended it to all and will hold this copy near to me, always.

This was a gift as requested by my daughter. She loved it and the book arrived in good time and perfect condition.
