Smatree X1 Aluminium Foldable Multi-Functional Pole/Monopod for GoPro Hero 6/5/4/3+/3/2/1/Session

Took this on a trip to asia recently and it performed nicely, especially for the price point, at the price it's sold at, I figured I could even pitch it after the trip (err.. recycle it) because I used it in the ocean with my GoPro. It took the use in sea water just fine and it is still usable. The thing I started to like about it is the fact that it looks somewhat professional. It looks like a valid piece of camera equipment versus some of the other selfie sticks I have seen which scream 'I am an obnoxious selfie-nerd!' My only gripe is the grip.. it's simply the same as the rest of the cnc'd aluminum, so it's not super comfy, but I prefer to have a better look than the 'I'm a dusche who bought a crappy selfy-stick for a buck.'

I like this and the idea of it, but it is actually a bit annoying to get all set up. I actually bought it for a trip then decided not to bring it because it is heavier than I thought it would be for aluminum. I can see myself using it someday for action filming, but not as a selfie stick or stand. It will work much better as a grip that holds a unique shape that helps get cool angles and shots.

I really wanted to give this 5 stars. It is perfect except one major flaw. The tripod mounting screw will not stay tight, so depending on how you have the GoPro positioned it will not stay in place and it will fall over. I may try a different tripod screw. I would have rated this a 4, but this is the most important part of the product, so it should have been figured out before it went into production.

1. Cheaper than the GoPro Grip2. Works just the same as the GoPro GripMy only gripe is the handle. It's metal and feels thin and uncomfortable in the hand. I solved this by attaching memory foam and covering that with duct tape. Easy fix.

Flexible and light, this was my first extendable, bendable pole. The build quality is great, and the included accessories are helpful. The only reason that I haven't given it 5 stars is that the pictures implied that there was a good way to use this as a standing rig, which doesn't really work. Other than that, it's great so far!

This is a great little pole! It is perfect for taking with when you don't have a lot of room. It folds up nice and small and works great with my gopro (using the frame). The construction is excellent. You won't have to worry about this guy breaking. In fact you have hardly have to tighten the thumb screws and it stays perfectly in place. Only draw back to this guy is that it is a little on the short side, but if it was I would loose the small size.

It looks cool, function wise,,,,not what I expected to be because it is difficult to position it to be stable. Think using it as selfy stick is too short.

It's awesome gopro mount for every sports. but, becareful when go to underwater. I lost my gopro with SmaPole in 90ft under sea.Need to tighten the bolt which connection of wrist strap and pole before you go to underwater.
