We have a lake nearby, and racing this boat is a good excuse to drag the family out there. Remote does seem to work out to about 50m, but if you go much beyond that, you risk simply losing it. The boat is reasonably fast, exactly what you would expect.The lithium battery for the boat is supplied, but you need to buy two AA batteries for the remote. I have lots of rechargeable batteries, and they seem to work. Charging the lithium battery can be done using a proprietary USB cable. Can use a power bank if you wanted to do several runs during an outing.Taking the boat apart to insert the lithium battery was a challenge, I was afraid I'd break it. If you undo the clasp near the rear of the boat, lift, and pull straight towards the rear, it comes off.

My girlfriend moved into a community with a big network of walking trails nearby, and takes her 9- and 10-year-old daughters walking there frequently. While accompanying them on walks I noticed all the streams and ponds incorporated into the landscaping, and thought, "Man, it'd be a hoot to drive an R/C boat on those!"So, I picked up this little boat, and we had the most amazing afternoon driving this little thing down streams, over rapids, through tunnels, doing donuts in the smoother water ... We never ran out of battery, and the thing moves quick enough to be interesting but slow enough that you can actually control it in a narrow waterway. The only low point was when the boat got swept into an overgrown section of creek, leading to some clambering through the underbrush to get it back.Recommended!

After reading a few reviews I wasn't sure about buying this remote controlled boat, but the price wasn't too bad and I went ahead and got a couple. I bought a white and yellow one, ,but can't find the white one on Amazon anymore. Anyway, these toys are fun. Taking the cover to get to the battery compartment on the boat took a little effort, I didn't want to pull too hard on the plastic boat, but I was able to get it off without anything breaking. Installing the battery was easy, just make sure the connector points to the rear of the boat. Placing the cover back on also took a little effort and younger kids may end up breaking the top if they are not being careful. Putting the boats in the water and turning on a controller made it easy as it could be to start playing. Only issue we had with one of the boats was that it was difficult to keep it running straight. After playing with it for around 10 minutes, I adjusted the rudder and that solved the problem. I thought the rudder was just a decoration, but it really makes a difference. One issue if you plan on using the boats in a pond or lake is that the boats do not self right. We flipped the boats over a couple of times and had to reach into the pool to turn them back over. Played with the boats for over 15 minutes and there was still plenty of battery life left. Overall, good purchase.

I purchased this for my kids, but quite frankly, I love playing with my myself. We’ve used it in the pool once (motor got wrapped in a girls hair, so that was the end of that!) and at the lake a few times. Mine came with 2 rechargeable batteries, so I use one while charging the other. Battery life is not an issue for us.You do need to be careful not to completely submerge the boat under the water, and I’d also recommend removing the top (where the battery is stored) to air it out between uses in case water enters that compartment.

The media could not be loaded.  EDITED AFTER REPLACEMENT: It was fun while it lasted - remote works great. Boat was controllable in a pool. However, it inexplicably stopped running and we cannot figure out why. Have sent back for replacement.Update: changed to 4 stars. New one works great. Fast and fun for an 8yo and his grandparents.

This little boat is fun for just driving around the pool, I bought it for myself but I find my kids have way more fun with it and it’s also great for when it’s time for the kids to get out of the pool, you just release this little guy and and start chasing the kids right outta the pool, now if I could just instal a cup holder on it to deliver beers to me then I’d love it even more.

Great fun in the backyard pool during the lockdown with my kid. He spends at least 40 minutes at the pool each morning until both batteries are out. The batteries recharge quickly so he can do round in the afternoon. Before the purchase I was worried that the boat would be damaging to the wall when it smashes into it, but the bumps are very gentle and I think the material of the boat is not hard enough to cause any damage.

The media could not be loaded.  This little remote controlled boat is great for a small child. This is my son’s first one and he loves playing in the pool with it. Good gift for the price. He had it in a little pond and the propeller’s had to be cleaned frequently. I recommend it for more of a pool toy!
