Object:Photo. Modern Photographs: The Thomas Walther Collection 1909-1949

I was disappointed that so much of the book is devoted to provenance of the photos and to their discovery. There's very little analysis of the art itself or of the movements to which these photos belong. To my mind, this is a very limited approach to the history and worth of the photos and very much more aimed at the specialist who might be cataloguing or auctioning the photos.

Beautifully produced, designed, printed and researched. I've never looked at photographs this way before. A must for photographers or art history.

A must photography book. An incredible collection and the history that goes with the photographer and his images.

Beautifully produced, vastly informative in depth study of one of the great photography collections of the era.
