Train still delivers . . .
Train’s station in life appears to be provision of a nearly endless supply of hook-heavy, earworm hits impossible to ignore -- “Drops of Jupiter,” “Calling All Angels,” “Hey, Soul Sister,” “Marry Me,” “Drive By.” This time around, the list gets longer – “Cadillac, Cadillac,” “Bulletproof Picasso,” and the all-too-real “Angel in Blue Jeans.” Singer Pat Monahan still hits the highs, but with a welcome rasp of age. The band is now tight as a Mason jar, dropping dynamic shifts like a San-Fran Steely Dan, albeit with slightly lighter moods, internal rhyme, and many stadium-sized choruses. Is it formulaic? Paint by numbers? Maybe a little, but why tempt a derailment? Train still delivers.

Another great album from Train
Excellent album that gets better with each playing of it. Vocals, lyrics, instruments, are all outstanding. I don't understand the few people who have registered complaints about the album at all. It is very upbeat and extremely listenable. I have been playing it for days when I work out in the gym and it never fails to get me going throughout my workout while listening to it. Train has become one of my favorite groups and I see no letdown by them with this new release and highly recommend it to all who are Train fans and to all who have never even listened to them (you will become fans). Far superior to most of the crap that is being put out on the market these days.

I have seen them soo many times in concert and have enjoyed every CD up until California 37
This really hurts because I am a huge Train fan. I have seen them soo many times in concert and have enjoyed every CD up until California 37. I just don't know what it is but it's not the same. Even the performances following Save Me San Francisco aren't the same. Ugh....Pat has an incredible voice, especially when he's not in his falsetto, Jimmy is a great guitar player, as is Hector and Jerry, also very talented. I'd like to know the story behind Scott's departure, but I could probably guess and get it right. I'm sorry, but it seems more about Pat than about Train and it's disappointing.

As I teach Radio Broadcasting at Loraine County Community College, just outside of Cleveland, I have been exposed to a ton of music I misses in my many years of Commercial Radio. One of the Groups that always captures my attention is Train. This album really shows off their talents in performance and song writing. The group tells has the ability to tell universal stories that all can relate to along with pairing them up with compelling music and arrangement's that lets each song stand alone in great company with the other "works of art" on the "Bulletproof Picasso" releases. "Angel in Bluejeans" an early favorite..

Train Derailed
Okay, this is where I get off this train. Can anyone say Maroon 5? I was a big fan, but now I'm off at the next stop if they don't go back to that original style that made them so wonderful. Everything up to this point has been great, but the pop stuff makes me sad.*update the next release is even worse:(

Genius!
This, in my opinion, is Train's best album to date. That is not to say the others weren't brilliant, because I love them all. But this one is true perfection.Pat Monahan is one of the most gifted, most underrated singers I know of. He brings an emotional connection to every word he sings. His phrasing is unique, always sitting in the music in a way that feels like they cradle each other, melding together. And his voice! I have had the pleasure of seeing Train - and Pat Monahan solo - perform live multiple times. I don't think it's possible to truly grasp his power and pitch-perfect vocals until you see him sing live. Some performers need all the gadgets in a studio to make them sound good. Pat Monahan doesn't even need a microphone to fill up a venue.Lyrically, we have the best of Train's signature storytelling. The words are poetic, the imagery profound. Most of the music is uptempo and certainly contagious. This is feel good, addictive, crank the volume and dance in your living room music!

after listening to bits I found I kind of liked the hand-clappiness of it
I know, I bought a Train album, I still can't believe it myself and I'm still not sure my reasons are sound but here goes. This isn't old school "Drops of Jupiter" Train, this is new school let's get POP Train. The sound of the band has changed over the years much in the same way Maroon 5's have, it's gotten more upbeat and radio friendly, though Patrick Monahan's voice isn't nearly as whiny as Adam Levine's has become. Changing with the times I guess to stay relevant. Alas, after listening to bits I found I kind of liked the hand-clappiness of it. Strange it was released in the fall as it has more of a happy summer vibe to it instead. Songs are catchy (a formula that got them a couple hits on their last set) and I do like the duet with Marsha Ambrosius. Overall I think it is a solid pop record that deserves a listen from any Top 40 aficionado, something I do consider myself at times and not in an ironic or disrespectful way. Sometimes it is good to just put on something upbeat to dance and clap the day away.

Bulletproof album choice
What's not to like about a Train album? As usual the band produces great, catchy tunes in true Train style which is none at all. There is never a Train CD like the one before it and that's what I like about them. They keep it fresh and different yet you still know it's Train. I recommend it to Train fans and non-Train fans alike because one day you non-Train fans will be converted into fans by something this band has done.

I didn't want to give it a good review!
I really didn't want to give this album a good review, I love Train the rock band but this is Train, Hornby 00 guage not the Flying Scotsman! As other people have said it's full of catchy pop songs, it's a bit Maroon 5 or The Script and dare I say it can't you just hear One Direction singing " I will Remember" ? But after listening to it many times you can't help but like it, the songs are so catchy and the last two tracks remind you that they haven't forgotten what made them so good in the first place. On the whole recommended.
