Cooling works well but unit has major flaws
We've owned the unit for a couple of weeks, but only just had need to use overnight it in our poorly insulated attic bedroom after a particularly hot June 1st.Main observations:- I can sleep through even loud white noise, so didn't pay too much attention to the reviews that focused on this unit's volume. What I wasn't expecting were the occasional gurgling and loud clunking sounds, probably due to the thermostat kicking in when the machine is on auto mode, which woke me up more than once. I've owned other portable air conditioners which are more consistent in their sounds and possibly better for bedrooms; TBC whether this is a critical fault or just because the EcoAir is new and needs to settle- the unit is excellent at quickly cooling a boiling hot bedroom of 17.5m² after a day of 27 degree heat.- the remote control is worse than useless. It doesn't seem to automatically send instructions to the unit without you needing to press another random button - so to change the temperature up or down you need to press 'down' followed by (eg) 'clock' so the command is sent. I couldn't get the remote to turn the unit on whatsoever, and forget about setting the timer etc without being at the aircon itself.- WiFi setup was fine (and the phone app covers the basic remote functions way better that the remote itself) but only after you learn that that it requires a 2.4 GHz WiFi connection. Most modern routers and devices operate by default at the faster 5 GHz setting, so I had to set up a secondary network for the EcoAir. Every time I want to control it via my mobile I now need to change WiFi on the phone first from my main home network. (Disclaimer: there may be a more elegant way to solve this problem). In summary, my room is cool but the device is clunky in lots of ways. Probably not so bad we'll return it but could be much better.

Exceeded my expectations on the cold front.
Make no mistake about it, this thing makes a lot of noise...A hell of a lot of noise. But on the flip side, it gets your room really cold, which was my main worry when spending weeks looking at dozens of portable air conditioners. It has exceeded my expectations with how cold and how fast it drops the room temperature, I just wish it was a little quieter in doing so.

It works to make the room more tolerable but app is awful and no longer works on wifi.
This is being used in the attic and the sun is on the room most of the day so it has its work cut out, it does bring the temp down and the trick is to activate a couple of hours before going into the room as it really is pretty noisy to have on when watching tv or listening to music and I could not sleep with it on but having had a number of this type of AC I already expected as much. The remote as others have noted is pretty much pointless luckily the app works well with Alexa and does what you need controls temp and switches on and off. After only a few months the unit is no longer recognised on the network and despite all attempts on different networks and even completely uninstalling the app it will not install. The information given for resetting wifi is terrible and the app is really bad, I will never but another product that uses this awful app.I can no longer recommend this unit as for me it no longer works the way it was advertised.

Much louder than what’s stated
The noise specifications appear to be wrong. The seller states that the noise levels are “Low-49db(A), Medium-51db(A), High-53db(A)” but the product’s official Energy label states that the noise level is 64dB. Can the seller clarify this?

Better than expected
I wasn’t sure how well this would work because of the mixed reviews.I thought I’d give it a go and I’m very pleased I did. It works really nicely. It took my room down from 25 to 23 degrees in about 30 mins.I made a decent effort sealing the room. See images. And made sure to use the exhaust pipe for the hot air. Lots of hot air comes out of it so if you are not getting rid of it properly it will not work.My room is around 8m x 4m and I use it for personal training. After last summer it was a nightmare so I’m pleased to have this and so are my clients!Haven’t tried the WiFi enabled mode yet but seems like a great idea as I can pre cool the room.I really wanted to leave a review as I feel that Some reviews seemed quite negative and I don’t feel it fully reflects the quality of the product. The unit is a decent size but feels high quality.

Unit is amazing, fiddly bits annoying.
Firstly as a portable aircon unit I would say amazing. I use it in my flat and it keeps this place nice and cool!! Deffinayley buy a hose if running this unit constantly as the water will drain out! (Hose not provided) website isnt helpful to buy the hose it recommends so I ended up using Ebay. Now the wifi......... firstly the app to use was a complete nightmare to get set up. Finally managed it after almost giving up. So with the app you can set the machine up to do whatever you want. Basically it's a better remote. When it all connects. I like the fact I can turn it on before getting home really handy! The remote is hit and miss, can point straight at the unit and get nothing. If you use the remote it seems to change the settings from the app so you have to turn it all on again if using timers.Basically though air con in my flat which is usually 30 degrees plus as soon as the sun hits it so I for one am grateful!

Couldn’t work in my office without it but very noisy
It work very well in that it cools my office in the garden very effectively. However it is very noisy. Before I make a phone call I have to switch it off (with it on people have asked what is that noise in the background when making a call). As soon as I switch it off the temperature quickly starts to rise. However as this is the only air conditioning unit I have ever had, others may be equally noisy so can’t advice. On balance I couldn’t mark in my office without it.
