Wishing I could deduct a star
In re-reading several of the delicious-sounding nutrient-rich recipes, I noticed that because of the texture of oatmeal, once you have taken the smoothy out of the fridge, you have to blend it again. I have a tiny kitchen where my coffee maker sits on my microwave on a card table so my food processor gets taken down from a closet shelf when I need it so having it out two days in a row would be highly inconvenient as I have to use it in front of the microwave door. Then my apartment is huge and gorgeous but when built 96 years ago they skimped on the number of electrical outlets. Dishwasher is my right and left hands.

I would have liked to have had two books
After leaving my review on another title by this author (oatmeal) I read my new copy of this smoothie "book". Again, can only state my opinion which is that these two booklets could have been combined and sold for the price of one. Trouble is that the recipes are just a little tweaked but basically very similar. The first 5 pages of blah were exactly the same in each booklet. I would have liked to have had two books, each with more than 30 pages (of info) for the money I paid for these two booklets. Lesson learned-

Smoothies ban be a very good way to get excellent nutrition
Smoothies ban be a very good way to get excellent nutrition. It is also a good way to put very bad foods into you system, so be careful what you add in the smoothie mixture. Avoid any extra sugar,or artificial sugars as they are very harmful to your health. Use other natural sweeteners if needed. You might want to add a few green leafy vegetables to them. They won't change the taste very much normally and if so, reduce the amount - but raw vegetables are needed for health..

Some of these smoothies are almost as good as a dessert
I first heard about using Oats in smoothies when I bought my Vitamix a couple years back. Oats in a smoothy is surprisingly filling and really can have a positive impact on your cholesterol and health, as I know. I only had two recipes which worked but got boring. Now I have tons of new recipes that are delicious. Drinking a quick smoothie on the way to work not only saves me time and money, but keeps me healthier. To me, some of these are almost as good as a dessert.

Great collection of smoothie recipes
Any book that has a recipe called Orange Creamsicle Oat Smoothie is going to capture my attention. I love that I can make it quickly with a blender. I'm also a huge fan of ginger recipes, so I was delighted to fine Pear Ginger Cinnamon Oat Smoothie. The author is known for the ease and simplicity of her recipes. She's succeeded once again.

So many great recipes to try!
Most mornings I don't have time to cook a big breakfast so smoothies are great replacement meals. I love the ease of making these recipes and that I can do them ahead. I like berries, so the Purple Berry Oat Smoothie and the Raspberry Oat one are at the top of my list.

Oh my Goodness, These Smoothies are Delicious!
I'd never thought of using uncooked oatmeal in a smoothie before but man are they great-tasting! My two favorites are the Purple Berry Oat Smoothie and the Oatmeal Raisin Smoothie, but that's only because I haven't tried the Orange Creamsicle Oat Smoothie. You really have to try make these easy, fast recipes and see which ones are your favorites!

Would not Buy Again
The smoothies don't really turn out well. The recipes are poorly thought out with widely varying ratios.
