Producing and Mixing Hip-Hop/R&B

This book is for beginners who want to learn about mixing, panning and applying effects to various tracks to produce a song. The DVD has audio files to upload to whatever DAW you use. The information is very basic (step by step clearly laid out in a 64 page large format book). This book focuses on using DAWs to produce and there's no information about crate digging or sampling. If this sounds like what you want to learn then the book is pretty good, however if you are not a novice I recommend passing on the book.

Considering the fact that there is literally nothing out there that actually covers HIP HOP, this is a good book to add to your arsenal. However, there are some audio missing in Beautiful Girls which only adds some confusion. In addition, the book is short on information but overall no one else seems to care enough about hip hop to even go this far.

I did not know that there was a disc in the book until it got bent in half in terms it could have gotten broken

This seems like a really well written book, I can tell the the people involved in this book really know what they are talking about, they even talk about compression and everything this is a great buy!

good info just there is nothing for Windows Vista just for APPLE(McIntosh)but all in all its a good book especially for people who wants to specialize in HIP-HOB/RnB as a career

Book was very informative. If you are looking for a book to teach you without too much prior knowledge, this is for sure the book for you!

If your looking for a way to learn how to create beats, well this isn't it. If you want to start making beats then get yourself the 200 and 260 drum machine patterns books here at amazon. You won't regret it!

Some cool stuff.Mike does a good job explaining things,easily and clearly for all the aspiring beat makers.you also get some files to practice..

... weil es mir auf dem ersten Blick zu oberflächlich erschien. Habe es mir dann aber doch zur Hand genommen und die Projekte durchgearbeitet.Habe einiges gelernt. Das arbeiten mit den einzelnen Spuren und der AB Vergleich mit dem Stereomix bringt einiges.

This is a short mixing course in book format with an accompanying cd.It's 2023 now and this book is 14 years old. It could really do with a revision.Also, some of the techniques used are somewhat dated.
