The album spent 26 weeks on the Billboard Top New Age Albums chart.

A work of art.
An absolutely stunning CD from the late master. Hedges really gets into his own groove here, incorporating not just a style but a modern sound that is both artistically tasteful and well mannered as well still being inherently complex and beautiful. Oracle is a masterpiece in regards to composition and song selection. I have nothing but praise to heap on this album, and I suggest all fans of his previous work pick this up immediately. Highly recommended.

Michael Hedges IS the Oracle
This is a highly recommended CD for all who follow Michael Hedges, those looking to re-discover or for those who have heard the name and want to know why there is a buzz. However, first timers must buy "Breakfast in the Field" first. Trust me. There is so much to listen to -- sensory overload. Besides Michael Hedges tunings which have influenced countless guitarists, his style, nuance, and mastery provide compelling evidence that the Oracle was here.......and left too soon.

Beyond mere music
Who was Michael Hedges? One of the greatest acoustic guitar players ever, for sure, and a brilliant composer, but much more than that. His total mastery of technique enabled him to transcend the boundaries of his instrument and to speak with a direct connection to his soul. Not a striving to reach such a state, but the outpouring of a true master, of one who has attained it. I hear his music and no longer wonder about the reason for existence. Not to say that all of his music attains this lofty level, but a great deal does. Oracle might not be his best work, (although it is my personal favorite) but it's definitely in the top three.

Great CD
Michael Hedges is a very innovative guitarist. Some of his music requires listening in depth and other music is just a little "strange" for the average listener. But, overall, this CD is great and I would recommend it to anyone exploring guitar music of this genre.
