Exactly as expected, maybe better!
The leather piece I received was a very nice piece of black, slightly pebble grained chrome tanned leather. Very soft, slightly stretchy, and easy to work with. This leather is slightly thicker than your standard upholstery leather. Just make sure you know what you're buying! This is chrome tanned leather, not to be used for belts, holsters, carving, etc. I am ordering again today!

Don’t bother.
I would not believe the pieces I was sent were actually leather. They were slick and highly polished, smelled very chemical and not worthy of any craft project.

Love the quality, but beware I received color black with different texture and different kind of leather because I order multiple. So make sure they are the same texture and leather.

real leather, but low quality
Item description says "soft, supple", but it is far from soft and supple. It is more like split leather embossed with an artificial grain texture. Not what I am looking for.

This was not genuine leather. The scraps were mostly faux leather and very poor quality pieces.
This was a total disappointment! I have great experience with buying leather scraps and this was junk . There was maybe one small piece of actual leather . The rest was all manufactured faux leather and several pieces had black marks on them .

Amazing quality at an exceptional price
This is an amazing piece of leather. It is thick leather. I used it to re-cover a center armrest on the car but the thickness sometimes didn't want to work with the curves if you know what I mean but it's excellent quality leather and I would highly recommend this leather for any craft project.

Pretty good for the money.
My only real complaint is that I ordered two of them and the pattern on them was different-one was pebbled and the other one had parallel lines in it. One was rolled and the other folded. It is taking some effort to get the folded one flat.
