I read this book about 6 months ago when starting a non-profit was just a pipe dream I had had for about 5 years. I run 2 profitable businesses but starting a non-profit is a lot of work and a whole different ballgame. This book convinced me I could do it. SO much helpful information to understand the process.For those people who are saying the book is "just a way for the law firm to get clients":This is just good business sense! Writing a book is a GENIUS way for them to attract clients and the firm is organized and effective BECAUSE Audrey wrote this book! You're getting wise advice from an experienced lawyer for less than $30 in this book. The firm clearly wants to help people start non-profits that change the world...and to write a book takes time and energy....so just stop complaining that the book mentions their firm's products and services as a resource. They mention them because YOU PROBABLY NEED THEM! :)Personally, as a business owner, I know that hiring experts is usually the best way to save time and headaches and in the end, money too. I did hire Chisholm Law Firm as a result of all the helpful information in this book. Wonderful experience with them and highly recommend the book and the practice for all your non-profit needs. I've read a lot of books on starting a business and various other ways to make money. I have owned several businesses, LLC, Inc., DBA, and Private Partnership. I'm impressed with the amount of advice that Mrs. Chisholm freely gives away, granted in the end it is a "zero-sum-game" for everyone. The only way to lose is to do nothing.The fact that she is a Christian "God-fearing-person" means that her level of honor and integrity is very high for her fellow human beings. Good info but the author kept mentioning her firm to bribe the readers into hiring her firm to do things that a person can do alone. I called and consulted with a member from the firm and their prices are way to high! For a first time nonprofit business owner, how can one come up with all that money to pay them to make their business successful? It's discouraging and gives you a sense of hopelessness in your non profit organization ever coming up off the ground. But I'm sure there are other resources out there as well as genuine people who would help and give you what you need to get your nonprofit organization up and going. Oh and grant writing is simple especially with educated people who have a bachelor degree or higher. Me personally, I have a master degree and I'm now pursuing a Doctoral degree. Writing is not a problem to the point where I would need to hire a grant writer as suggested in the book. Great information to know though! Thanks!

I was determined, before reading this book, to start my nonprofit and make as big of a positive impact in my local community as possible. Now, I'm determined and confident. I spent a morning going out to different institutions to get some generic info that pertains to my nonprofit recently. My drive for getting started just keeps getting stronger. I have more questions than answers at this point and that's why I'm so thankful that I found this book. Now I will be asking myself and others the RIGHT questions. I was doing a search for DIY books, for little fun activities, when I found this. It has been a blessing! I read it in two nights. Now, even though I have no experience with nonprofit management, I feel completely confident that I will be able to make good choices and surround myself with other professionals who have the qualifications to meet the needs of my nonprofit and drive its success. It may take me a little time to really get going but I'm excited that this book was my first real step toward living a dream that I've had since I was young and suffered homelessness. Thank you!

Wenn der Mist nicht 22 Euros kosten würde könnte man drüber hinwegsehen. Aber hey, man bekommt ein 30 Minuten Gespräch gratis dazu im Wert von 450 Dollar, was einen Stundenlohn von 900 Dollar entspricht. Ja, ne, ist klar. Avoid like the plague!
