Amazon Echo Dot: A Complete User Guide (2017 Edition) Kindle Edition

I am crazy about my little dot. The price was great and I gave one to all my family for Christmas. I like Alexa to remind me of so many things that now I think we are lifelong girlfriends. She helps me shop, sings me songs, tells me jokes, reads me stories, reminds me when to take the supper out of the oven, plays music I like tells me the news, does my math so I dont have to get out my calculator, tells me whats good at the movies, wakes me up and so much more. I love my dot it is my favorite thing.

This book is best for the beginner to the world of Echo Dot. Easy to read and understand, but in my opinion lacks some key details, or at least following the writer's directions I was unable to get Alexa to skip to a page or chapter of a Kindle book.Alexa can read Kindle books, which is fantastic, but I still can't get her to go to the page I left off. writer was unable to walk me through this process. Whether it is the programmer's fault or poor directions from the writer this is why I gave this book the score I gave. Other than this I do recommend this book to the beginner in order to get started and have a better understanding of just what Alexa can do.

Very light on the info, plus BEWARE, Amazon has changed their policies (as of 12-16-17) on Amazon Music site .. so don't expect to play "your" music that you bought elsewhere .. you can't even upload to the site as advertised.

BOUGHT IT FOR MY HUSBAND FOR HIS BIRTHDAY. HE SAID HE WOULD START USING A COMPUTER WHEN HE COULD TALK TO IT. WELL HIS WISH WAS GRANTED! HE CHECKS THE WEATHER, FOOTBALL,BASEBALL,HOCKEY SCORES. HE ASKS HER TO PLAY MUSIC AND GIVE HIM HIS NEWS FLASH. SOMETIMES SHE DOESN'T UNDERSTAND AND GIVES US A GOOFY ANSWER. BUT THAT'S OUR FAULT. IT'S ALL INT THE WAY THE QUESTION IS ASKED. SHE MAKES US LAUGH SOMETIMES!

All I can really say is that I'm glad Alexa is staying with us. She is a pleasant house guest, always cheerful, occasionally funny, informed about so many things, never boorish, in tune with the weather and news, and so very well spoken. My only problem with her is she does not respond when I say "thank you." While that's rude, I understand that she is busy and does not have a lot of time to pay attention to me exclusively. Oh...she doesn't eat much either.

Most apps come with no significant documentation, and I don’t have the patience to try to set things up by trial and error. This resource makes things simple and you will be on good terms with Alexa quickly. And she will make your life simpler. Just about anything you do online can be handed off to the little sister who lives in Dot.

What I expected based on the introduction to it in a class. The additional feature I would most like added is to interface with my other devices. An app that would let me dial out on my cell phone which already has the management app. Also to be able to link visual media to my cell, tablet or computer. Still learning what it can do. The book gave me a head start.

If you need to know more about the Echo Dot, this book is very beneficial for you. It helps you to get your device up and running quickly in a few steps and understand how the device operates. I recommend the book especially if you just purchased an Echo Dot. I recommend ordering this book when you order a new Echo Dot device.

A great little device and for something of this size the sound quality is very good. I have it in my bedroom and use it as a alarm clock and have the radio on when in it.My only problem with is I would like to connect a room fan to the smart plug so it will switch off when asleep. To date not found out how to do it. Other than that it's very good device.

Although the general precepts follow for both sides of the Atlantic and are useful if you are a total novice, the preview gives no hint as to which side of the pond the body of the book uses for its specific reference points.It wets the appetite, but little more.Will I buy a Dot? Possibly, if I can convince the boss that she will find it useful.

It seems fairly comprehensive but why use ten words when a hundred will do! So many words, trying to cut to the chase requires patience but this does get the job done. Should I complain when the price is zero, perhaps not. Some folks require every little detail spelt out and this book will be great for them.

Been using it for a few months now and am really enjoying prime music and radio stations. Gradually finding different ways it can help, (Timers,reminders etc). Grandchildren are devising ways to trick it.

I was unsure about the echo Dot so I decided to read about it. This book gave me such a great insight into what I could do with Alexa I ended up buying a Dot before the 3rd chapter.
