Nick Warren delivers
so like most i had given most of the recent global undergrounds a miss. they seem to had lost their "cultural" touch and sense of purpose, not doing the label any justice (felix da housecat for example). but this mix really does bring back the days of the classic GU mixes. there is a sense of soul and effort put into the mix. so i was expecting something similar to paris....but no its totally different, warren seems to excel in the more chilled releases such as rekjavik, but this mix ditches the chilled beats and brings in some progressive and deep house (reminisant of amsterdam and even brazil!). disc two contains the deeper house material, but both discs are evenly spread out, not differing in their coherant sound. in places its epic such as track 9 "Siner" (some euphoric vocals that just sound superb once you have drifted off into the mix). warren hasnt followed the minimal/heavy techno schene and has reasured me that there is some good "proper" house music out therethis is something iv been crying out for recently, something that wouldnt sound out of place in a club, but also suitable for home listening. nick warren has contributed to the GU series massively, and i must say this has to be one of his best (with brazil being my favorite). a statement that im even suprised to say myself as i didnt have much faith in the new GU series. so to conclude, GU35 delivers a progressive, deep house sound that feels right up to date. i highly recommend for the "original" GU fans.enjoy!

Best of the series yet, bar none
Nick Warren has been with this GU series from the very beginning and is still retained to put his name to the occasional edition, not surprisingly because he hasn't done a duff mix and always has something new and exciting to bring us. Here are two jam-packed CDs with carefully chosen and intertwined electronica sounds. There's no over-long warm up period, no fiddling about with rest bits in the middle - it just starts at the top and sustains itself to the very end. Lima brings fresh life back to the GU series that has suffered enormous setbacks by some incredibly bland and silly releases from lesser known DJs. Warren has really made this series his own.

A Wonderful Lift
Nick Warren made these cds with love and I loved them. He deserves an award for lifting the GU label. The minimal sound is ok in small doses but long term, its boring and a dead end. So when I purchased Lima the sunshine flooded through my mind with relief as I listened again to my favourite sounds of progressive house. This music is alive. Cd1 is good and cd2 even better. The genre of prog house has generosity in comparison to minimal which is tight. With carefully selected tracks that are well mixed NW has inflected these cds with an even paced, lifted sound all the way through both cds. I have played them a few times and their tireless format guarantees I will enjoy listening to them again for some time. A must have for anyone with a liking for progressive house music.

........Simply Sublime.......
Yup! This one is defo up there with the best of the GU series and ive been there from the begining and although the last few have been a let down warren has put the label back where it belongs..... Nick Warren wants to give himself a pat on the back here and consider himself the "SAVIOUR" as just when the label seemed to be heading the same way as the once great but now awfull "ministry of sound" label, he's pulled them right back on track and put them in the right direction once again... I believe both discs to be just as good as each other with quality tunes throughout and an overall mix that really does take you on a journey from start to finish which is what the GU label does best and need to stay with as this is what makes them "GREAT"... Reinstate your faith in the label once again and treat yourself to one of Mr Warrens finest and most probably GU's most important and needed mix of late!!!!!

Great mix
Loved this mix with it's typical Warren sound.Somehow left me feeling there was more to come. Don't know if i was looking for a couple of euphoric crescendos to finish me off but just felt that something was missing.Still a fantastic mix and i guess i'm judging Nick's mix against his own very high standards. As a stand alone piece of music it's fantastic.Great addition to anyone's collection.

Excellent
Nick Warren didn't save the world with this mix but saved for sure the GU label who was going down down down....This subtil deep & progressive house double mix is probably one of the best of the label and shows that there are still great djs not giving their soul to the minimal trend! This is the kind of quality mix that you can listen ever and ever, at any time, any mood... and which take you far away... in a real electronic pleasure.A must.

Good but ambient-esque
Real good tracks but it is kept at a reasonable pace. It doesn't quite develop, so could appear a little boring. Tight and flawless nice music, more melodic than progressive the way it used to be. The Paris GU mix is similar.Good for summer listening, and background - versatile for everywhere.Nothing extreme. I have the tracks separately which are excellent, but this mix does not develop - There are more epic stand out mixes... This is good but I want people to know not to expect a 5 star GU Release... yet again. Unfortunately.
