I am a little disappointed, but glad I have it.
I bought this to attach to a PlaySeat that I also purchased as part of a larger system for an Oculus Rift based racing simulator platform running Assetto Corsa. It does add a little bit of realism to games by providing some vibration feedback when you go over bumps and such. Overall, I am glad I bought it, but I am also disappointed. Below are some bullet points of both the good and the bad:Positives:+ Added realism and immersion by vibrating your chair. (This one positive does outweigh all the negatives I list below.)+ It comes with a nice remote controlNegatives:- Vibrations are not that realistic, sometimes inappropriate. Since the Buttkicker works off of the low frequency zone of the game sound, it will sometimes do weird stuff. Likewise, while my force-feedback wheel may pick up on the rumble strip I just drove over, the butt kicker may be mostly unaware, or when some stray sound in the game occurs, the Buttkicker may provide feedback not related to how a car would really vibrate.- Sometimes it just clacks (makes clacking noises), for no apparent reason (mostly when I'm starting the car, or coming to a complete stop). I just pretend it's something wrong with my car :)- In general, the vibrations are not strong enough. I cranked up the bass on my system, bolted the Buttkicker directly tot he frame of my sim seat, and put my rig up on the included rubber mounts, but it's still a pretty weak effect.- The supplied mounting options were incomplete. It should have included some bolts, and secondary hardware to secure it to stuff.- It came with no clear instruction on how best to mount it.- It should have come with some wire nuts, which are required to attach the pigtail from the vibrator to the cable that goes to the amp.- The controls on the amp are a bit confusing.- The amp is difficult to turn on. Clicking the "on" button apparently does not do anything, but then sometimes the power light turns yellow, and sometimes it turns green, and sometimes it flickers to one color and then back to off. Eventually, it does turn on, perhaps by some particular method of turning it on that I am not aware of.- I *think* the unit will overheat and turn itself off. I say this because sometimes it just seems to not work, then magically start working again.Perhaps some of the minuses above are my own fault for how I mounted it, I don't know, since there were no tips on how to mount it in the relatively poor included instructions. The way I mounted it was to drill two holes through the frame of my Playseat, roughly below where my butt would be, such that it did not rub on the seat or the floor, and then I bolted it securely in. I then I lifted the entire Playseat frame off the floor by attaching the big rubber shock mounts provided in the Buttkicker package.)Perhaps the experience might be better with other games. I am using this for Assetto Corsa. I have not tried in rFactor, iRacing, etc.Although my review may seem a bit negative, all in all it does add to the experience, so I would still recommend it as "better than nothing". I am still glad I bought it. The problem is that it is not everything that it could be. I would recommend to shop around, then come back and buy this if you don't find anything better.

I recommend using the rubber isolators that come with the kit ...
I bought this to use with the Playseat Evolution racing seat. Before you buy it, it's worth noting that attaching it to the seat requires some light woodworking. I went to my local hardware store and had them cut a sheet of wood to size with the bottom of the seat, drilled four holes in the corners to match the seat's mounting bolts, and attached the board (with the ButtKicker bolted to it) to the frame with some longer bolts. So suffice to say, getting this thing to work with your rig requires a little planning. As for performance, it has plenty of kick. The kit comes with the ButtKicker Concert Mini, and when the intensity is turned all the way up, you really feel it. I had to turn it down because the vibration was so intense that it was creating a lot of noise too. I'm not sure how long it can run at that intensity, but at medium settings, I've never had any heat problems. I recommend using the rubber isolators that come with the kit too. Without them, I'm sure this thing would rattle against the floor loudly enough to be very distracting.

Really impressive
I bought for IL-2 and it works flawlessly. I don't even use max power and the experience is still outstanding.

ok if working
Is ok when it works....and you don't even know how to make it work, I mean, after turning on the unit you move all the buttons and push them but you have to do it like in a crazy movie and it eventually will start working; you don't know how, you don't know when but if you don't move an push for five minutes just forget you have it . I use it for a race simulator and the first twenty minutes is not about improving my skills or enjoying the game but turning to the unit to see if it is at least giving the signal that is working, otherwise of course you will fell it in your butt. if you don't bother yourself looking and pushing I can tell you, it will never work but, again, if it works it will rumble your rig nicely and loudly so I would not say buy it or not to anybody....why didn't I return it is a good question I don't have and answer for (sorry).

Don't believe the haters. follow instructions you will get what you are looking for
I purchased 2 of these. Thinking from the bad reviews I would double up. These are on my sim rig. I cant even come close to turning them up as they are so incredible. Smoke Tronics help me out with my silly questions and now I have an excellent set up. I didn't have to add the dampeners as suggested. When I did the effect was 10 times more impressive. don't believe the haters. these do exactly what is expected and then some. defiantly will be adding 2 more to sim rig as well as a few to my theater seats. Thanks Smoke Tronics!!!
